In my experience with resettling Ethiopian refugees, they are very sensitive about being called Copts, as the Ethiopian Church (and I would guess the Eritrean Church) are autocephalous and independent of the Coptic Church.

Just curious – is there some history of tension or friction there? That’s the sense I infer from some of your posts (though I could be just imagining it).
