I thought I had some idea of what was appropriate at Mass, but I attended a Children’s Mass today that leaves me with several questions. I hope someone can help me.

The Choir was sitting behind the Priest (of course behind the altar). During the Eucharistic prayer, they sat down. I know there was not room for them to kneel, as everyone else in the Church was doing. Yet there was plenty of room for them to stand. Shouldn’t they have been standing. During communion, a Eurcharistic Minister (I know that’s not the correct term, sorry) took communion to each choir member as they continued to sit in there chairs. When the choir entered and exited the Church, they walked in front of the altar and not one bowed to the altar or genuflected to the Tabernacle.

Is this behavior exceptable? Am I just old fashion?

Thanks for the help!

Your right, they should not be standing during consecration.

You are right with everything. They should not sit during the consecration.

They should stand or kneel when they receive communion.

They should atleast bow in front of the tabernacle.

Good news !!! It’s not your problem, and even if it was, you have bigger things to worry about.
The important part was , you were able to attend Mass. Yea !

You’ll have to excuse Roemer. He doesn’t think we have to worry about anything except for worrying about things apparently.

It is very important to worry about the formation of children. Was there a reason they needed to be on the altar at all?

The students were on the Altar because they are putting a new organ in the choir loft and it is being remodeled. Hopefully, in the next few weeks, they will be able to return to the choir loft.
