Ok The Mass is the best prayer there is I have been told time and time again. Are we going to God by partaking in the body and blood? Does the church know why Jesus said eat my body and blood? Or is this something that still remains a mystery and maybe sometime we’ll be let in on it. I know of the metaphysics behind it from Aquinas but doctrine wise I am kind of still a little lost.

St. Augustine was once trying to figure out the Trinity. As he was walking along the beach he saw a young boy digging a hole in the sand and putting water from the ocean into in it. He asked the young boy why he was trying putting the water from the ocean into the hole, and the young boy answered, “I’m trying to empty the ocean.” Augustine replied, “That’s impossible!” to which the young boy said, “so is your trying to understand the Trinity.”
What does this have to do with your question? Sometimes instead of trying to unravel the mystery, we simply need to trust God and “enter into the mystery.”

Read Scott Hahn’s “The Lamb’s Supper”.
Christ gave the Passover meal new meaning.
