I used to think that it was interesting Satanists had belief in the Real Presence enough that they required a consecrated host to hold a Black Mass. But on reflection it is probably not belief at all. It is just the knowledge that it upsets Catholics so much because we ourselves hold this belief strongly. As for why they don’t go after other ecclesial communities, I would say it is a combination of the numbers and notability of Catholicism with that strongly held belief. If you wanted to upset Protestants I guess you could burn a Bible. But you would not get such a visceral and organized backlash as desecrating a host would get. (Most) Protestants don’t worship the Bible as we do for the Blessed Sacrament.
True, true. I will reflect and pray on this more. It probably is mostly about them acting like a four year old…

Do you suppose that satanists subconsciously know that they have chosen the wrong path and have the ‘Homer Simpson’ level of pain where (as he says) “Sometime the only way to make yourself feel better is to make somebody else feel worse”? I will continue to pray for their souls.

Thank you for your insight: I admit I have not spent much time prior to these recent events in prayer for those who follow satan…sometimes, even though I am active in evangelization, I am still very sheltered and am not even aware of these types of groups. I’ll bet that the media isn’t aware of how many prayers have been offered up for these satanist groups since they first started covering such awful events.

Peace in Christ

Jesus is my Christ. I want Him back. Any family relative would have the same right in a kidnapping case. Where does this analogy fail.
Any legal way is valid if it protects the sanctity and personage of Christ in the hands of defilers. In my opinion, even violence is warranted. I would certainly man handle anyone trying to steal a consecrated host from a church.
If someone kidnapped a relative of yours, you would not go after the kidnapper with a writ of replevin, at least not ideally. Because the relative is not your property, and your interest in their safe return is not that you want your property restored to you without damage.

That said, if we lived in a world that did not recognize the evils of kidnapping such that the only way to recover my kidnapped relative safely would be to claim him as my property – you can bet I would file for a writ of replevin!

Right, it is desecration for desecration’s sake. It is nothing more than screaming “no” into the void.
