I’m a first year University student still getting accustomed to University life. Anyway, the nearest church is about 25 minutes away if I walk (I think the train can get me there, I’ll have to check) but I also know that the chaplaincy offers Communion Wednesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon and I was wondering if it’s a requirement if we receive Eucharist on Sundays or if can be done any time during the week.

You have to go to Mass either on the Saturday evening vigil or sometime on Sunday. You are not required to receive the Eucharist when you go (and if you’re in a state of mortal sin, don’t do it until you have confession), but you are required to go for Sunday (Saturday night counts for Sunday).

As long as you’re in a state of grace / not in a state of mortal sin (as far as you know), you can receive the Eucharist every day if you want to. You are supposed to receive at least (I believe) once per year during the season of Easter. But the more that you can licitly do so, the better I would say.

As far as requirements go, we are required to receive the Eucharist only once a year, and this must be during Easter (between and including Easter Vigil and Pentecost Sunday). That is what is required.

Now, for Mass, we are required to go to Mass on all Sundays, and all non-Sundays declared as Holidays of Obligation by your diocese.

We are encouraged however to receive Communion as often as we can. Daily is great. But don’t forget we must be in a state of Grace to receive.

it is a requirement that we receive the Eucharist once a year during the Easter season. It is a requirement that we assist at Mass every Sunday and Holy Day (or Saturday evening where this is allowed to fill the obligation. Does your school have a campus ministry, Newman Center for Catholic students? They should be offering Mass on Sunday if there is no parish church nearby. No, attending a communion service does not fill your Mass obligation, whether it is on a weekday or a Sunday. If there is no Mass within a reasonable distance you are relieved of the obligation. If you can get transportation to Mass you are obligated to attend. What about a bike? what are other students in your situation doing? there may be a carpool or some other arrangement in place already.
