I am a convert to the Catholic faith. I have a hard time sometimes seeing the Jesus in the Blessed Sacrement. I hate that I cannot see what others can, how have you guys learned to see Jesus in the Blessed Sacrement?

Hi Drew,
When I go to Eucharistic Adoration, I only see the monstrance and the Host, but I believe Christ is present. I feel more peaceful in the chapel where the Host is. Does that help it make sense for you?

Remember that everyone arrives at knowledge of God and Jesus in their own way and their own time. Don’t try to rush or force things too much.
Sad to say, there have even been priests who confect the Real Presence every day who have doubted that He was there. The Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano Italy, where the Host turned into real flesh - a piece of heart muscle to be precise
- happened because the Priest was doubting whether Christ was truly present.For now just realise that Christ IS present in a special way in every Catholic Church and Chapel, and when you go to Mass or Adoration talk to him as if he were standing or sitting right next to you. Don’t worry too much about what you ‘feel’ - that’ll come in its own good time.

God Bless you and welcome home!!! First of all do not force yourself to feel the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Take it from the perspective from where you came from. How did you experience His presence before? How would you explain that experience to someone who may never had an experience knowing Jesus’ presence at all?? Perhaps reading the Last Supper discourses in Scripture and Luke 24 “The Road to Emmaus” will help your focus on how Jesus is present in the bread and wine.
Remember that we all have our spiritual ups and downs. There are times when His Presence is so overwhelming that it brings tears to my eyes and then there are those times that I have doubts. It’s in those times where we grow spiritually. Just let go and let God. Attend Eucharistic Adoration as often as you can and continue to receive even if you don’t have this great awakening yet. When it comes you’ll know. There’s no mistaking it and your life will never be the same again.

Think of the Eucharist in this way: God assumed a fleshly veil when He became Man in Jesus Christ, so that He could be offered up on the Altar of the Cross to atone for the sins of mankined. We re-present this sacrifice during the Mass by offering up Jesus’s Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity on our Altars to the God the Father.
Just as Jesus Christ’s Divinity was veiled to the Father with human flesh in His earthly life in Nazareth, so Jesus’s Divinity is veiled to us in the Eucharistic species, only now, Jesus is fully visible to the Father in Heaven, and veiled to us.
To put it another, the Eucharist is BOTH on Earth and in Heaven. Occasionally, one of us will see Jesus’s Divinity through the Host: maybe seeing His Holy Face, or His Sacred Heart. Occasionally, one of us will see Jesus’s Humanity when hosts suddenly appear as flesh and blood.
Scripture teaches that no man is pleasing to God without faith, and faith is just what you have: believing in a Revealed Truth without being able to prove it with the human senses. You are a pleasing child of God, Drew C.

The Real Presence Association (www.therealpresence.org) sponsors the exhibit and will work with each group to schedule the showing of these beautiful posters. They own three sets of the posters so that there can be one set going through the west coast states, one on the east coast and another in the Midwest. Parishes, schools or universities, etc. can display any number of the 160 posters if their space is limited. Each miracle stands on its own merit but seeing all of them together is wonderful. We chose to display them all since it fit nicely in our large Lower Level. Groups are also encouraged to print their own copies of any or all of these posters if they would like to keep a permanent set of them.
In the very near future, the Real Presence will publish the exhibit in book form (Eucharistic Miracles of the World) that can be purchased from www.lifeeternal.org 1-800-842-2871

Remember that Jesus has told us about faith - it is a blessing for those who cannot see but believe. Although, there are many people can’t physically feel the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, but spritually they do.Thank you for all of your responses it means alot to me. Other signs of realizing Jesus being present in the Eucharist after you have been going to adoration many times are:
- getting closer to Jesus in your heart
- being stronger in faith
- loving God and your neighbors
- last but not least - love going to Mass.

Welcome Home! I will tell you what helped me. I did not know that Jesus was present in the Eucharist until I was 23 or 24 years old. I saw a booklet written by a Protestant church that mentioned it and this got me to search for the truth. I knew after that what the Church taught and that Jesus is really present in the Blessed Sacrament, but I did not “know” it or “see” it as you say. What I did was go to Eucharist Adoration and ask Jesus to help me understand with my heart and soul His Real Presence and He did. It also helped that the Lord put in my life a man who gave me the book, The Blessed Eucharist by Fr. Michael Muller, C.S.S.R. This is full of storys of the Eucharist. It helped me in my journey to really see the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Now, I miss Him so much if I miss a week without going to sit before Him. I go to Daily Mass to receive Him and miss him also if I have to miss going to Mass. Trust me, you are on the right track for you are searching and wanting to really see Him in the Blessed Sacrament. He will give you your hearts desire, for it is for your soul’s benefit. Remember, we believe because Jesus said so, Matthew 26: 26-28; Luke 22:19-20, and Mark 14:22-24.Thank you for all of your responses it means alot to me. I hope this helps you and remember, as many have said here, your Faith will grow a little at a time every day, just allow the Lord to work in you and you do your part by giving him your time in prayer and read about him in the Bible. Do this and you will grow spiritually.

I am glad that Jesus revealed Himself to me (when I am ready).
Pray, pray, pray. Learn, learn, learn. Pray, pray, pray.
That was my personal experience of meeting Jesus.
One advice that please spend time with Him in Eucharistic Adoration. It helps alot.
