Scripture experts, why does Saint Paul say in 1 Corinthians 11 that he received the Last Supper story from Jesus? Does this mean he only received it from direct revelation?
Confusing me just a little
Thanks!!

Ver. 23. I have received of the Lord. That is, by revelation from Christ, as well as from others, who were present with him, that which also I delivered to you by word of mouth, &c. Here he speaks of the holy sacrament itself, of the words of consecration, as the evangelists had done, and of the real presence of Christ’s body and blood.

It is possible Jesus informed St. Paul directly, but more likely that the Apostle Paul received this information from other Apostles.

It is the most ancient account in the NT, by the way, more ancient than the gospel accounts.

Blessed are those called to His supper,
Deacon Christopher
