Eucharist Question

Hey all,

I am a Catholic candidate (Baptized Catholic, raised Lutheran) who is currently enrolled in RCIA in order to come into full communion with the Church during Easter. I am planning to go to Mass tonight for All Saints Day and I figured it would be a good time to get an answer for a question that has been on my mind for the past couple months. During Mass I obviously abstain from partaking in the Eucharist but I was wondering what fruits (if any) are being bestowed upon me by just being in the presence of Christ and adoring him. I understand that the presence is unique in the actual species but I was wondering if there are any spiritual connections or fruits among the faithful who do not participate in the Eucharist.

If you attend Mass well, you get the same graces that you would had you been at the foot of the Cross on Calvary. And every Mass you attend well pleads mercy for you when you are judged at death by Jesus.

You may certainly benefit by making an act of spiritual communion:

“My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.”

Personally (and this is just my humble opinion on this topic which I love) I believe that graces shower down on all present at the mass at the time of the consecration. Actually I had a dream about it once and it greatly strengthened my faith and love for the Eucharist.
