Can there be any doubt? The word “Eucharist” comes from the Greek for thanksgiving, which is a reference to ‘The Last Supper" . A community is built upon its common values and its intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks. "Community’ comes from the old French which means to come together or gift, which is linked to the meaning and purpose of the Eucharist. The two are synonomous, a successful community is usually built on its Truths which cements the practices and success of the lifestyle and growth of the community in question

Jordan I love these pictures.
In the context of Catholic community, the Eucharist is the center and root of all Catholic communities.

I heard that once, some evangelical heretic took a eucharist home and it bleed blood and he died. Is this a true story? Thanks.

Does the Eucharist help create a community?
I think it certainly helps maintain a community. It probably is important in creating the community as well (though I’d always want to put the Church as the Body of Christ as a first step - it is Christ who is creating the community, not that I think you were trying to detract from that.

I think I’d also like to say that this Eucharisto, this thanks-giving, is something we can share across the boundaries between church communities that exist today. Together with our non-Catholic brothers and sisters we give thanks for God’s amazing love and mercy. In that sense there is, perhaps, a wider community of thanks-giving. Together, we are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.
