Eucharist

What are the specific ingredients that make up a host in order that it may become a valid Eucharist? If too tedious to list, please let me know where I can get this information. Thank you and God bless.

Roman: water and wheat flour

Eastern: Water (2 1/2 cups), wheat flour (5 cups) and yeast (about 1tblsp)

I am not sure about whether all the Eastern rites may use yeast. We have a Byzantine rite which does, and a Maronite rite that uses hosts just like the Roman rite; I don’t know if that is a requirement for them or a convenience.

The Chaldeans and the Maronites use unleavened bread just as do the Latins. The other Eastern Catholics use leavened bread.
