Before I begin, I believe I have seen some of your names on CARM. I joined catholic.com last year and so my username for CARM and Catholic.com are different. So, to reveal myself, my screen name from CARM is GodsChild1. So, if you are over at CARM and see GodsChild1, I just wanted you to know JOL and GodsChild1 are one and the same.

Now, onto the point of this post. Today I went to Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. I really couldn’t pray. I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t utter many words at all. All I could muster was “Jesus are you here, is that really you?, Please show me, let me know this is you and you are here.”

When I said these things as voice in my head immediately said “I am here, It is Me.”

I can’t figure if that was me wanting to here something, or if Jesus was answering my prayer.

Please, let me know what you think.

I also wanted to share something, sort of related. A few years back my aunt sent me a prayer book for Adoration. I hid it away because I wasn’t Catholic any more. I knew last night that I was going to Adoration today, so I ripped the house apart looking for this prayer book. I couldn’t find it. This evening I gave it another try. I was looking and looking and couldn’t find it. I uttered the words “dear St. Anthony” and immediatly I found it. I couldn’t even finish the prayer.

Well, that is it. I am signing off. I will sign on tomorrow to see what kind of responses I get. I am tired, sick and in need of my tea and some good sleep. Talk to you all tomorrow.

God bless you and keep you!

I will not go into the Eucharist part of you question, because the person before me could not have directed you better. But I will say that intercession from St. Anthony is a super great way of finding lost things. When I was reading you post and before I got to the part where you mentioned St. Anthony I was thinking to myself she should call upon St. Anthony for intercession. So since you did, I don’t need to… Just remember to say thank you to him for his help…

JOL, God bless.
I have been were you are now. I’m a revert. I was a Southern Baptist for 15 years and nothing for 10. It was only when I was at the lowest point in my life. When everything around me was falling apart, that God spoke to my heart. He let me know I did not have to do this thing called life alone. That he loved me, and was there (and always was) for me. All I had to do was ask him back into my life. It is only through the grace of God that I have found my way back home.

God’s peace,
Stephen

Hello Jol,

I used to post on Carm under the name of Calvin, awhile back. But I got tired of the stubborn and out and out defiance of all logic and reason, by a lot of those protestant posters. So I don’t post here anymore.

As for the Eucharistic adoration, consider yourself blessed.

I too have had success in praying to St. Anthony. His intercession got me a job awhile back, and in a most amazing way.

Since your voice did not affirm anything contrary to the Catholic faith, it could indeed have been an answer to your prayer from Jesus but there is really no way to know for sure in this life.

In my life I have heard such a voice on two separate occasions while at prayer. I suspect they were from God as the experience seems to have drawn me closer to Him but I don’t know for sure.

St. Anthony helped me find a co-worker’s lost car keys once. Though the co-worker had not left the building, her keys somehow ended up in the paper recycling bin outside and, after a prayer to St. Anthony for help, he led me directly to them. Thank you, St. Anthony.

Oooppps I mispelled there as here. I meand I don’t post over there anymore. Sheesh, of course I am posting “here”.😛

God’s Child,

Welcome home! I praise God for you.

I will say flat out that what you heard was Jesus speaking to you. And in case you needed another sign, St. Anthony provided one for you too–through the power of Jesus, of course. Saints never work on their own.

(Explanation to everybody else: I’m one of the names she has seen over on that other forum.)

Jill,

I have participated over at CARM for awhile under the name STJ. I have not posted over there for several weeks because my IP address was temporarily banned because of hackers using a similar IP. Anyway, I’m glad to see that you are over here and getting to know us. Perhaps I will also see your posts over at CARM.

God Bless,

Pax

Hey JOL,

Maybe this will help a bit since you’ve been running around with “Bible Only” folks. I hope it does anyway.
The Eucharist IS Scriptural.
Pax tecum,
Thanks!! That certainly did help. I had always wondering about the verse that says we would be guilty of the body and blood of our Lord. That particular wording makes it sound like a grave offense to handle the Eucharist is an unworthy manner. It is different to handle the Lord’s Body and Blood that mere symbols of them. I will say honestly though, I am convinced in my head, this conviction hasn’t made it to my heart yet though. I do have a question though.

I have gone to Mass the past 2 sunday’s. Obviously, I cannot participate in the Eucharist having not gone to confession yet. So, what do I do. I have seen people walk up to the priest with their arms in a X across their chest. Is this what you are supposed to do if you can’t receive the Eucharist because you haven’t gone to confession. These past 2 weeks I stayed in my seat. What does the priest say to you when you go up like this?

Thanks Liberian. I to thought it was funny how quickly I found the Adoration prayer book that same evening. Maybe it was Jesus speaking to me. I don’t know why this is just so hard to understand though. I am being worn out at CARM honestly. The constant negative atmosphere, even when you try to lighten it up. I am still going to post there, probably not as much until I make my decision final on “coming home”. I said I was going to take my time with this decision, but I really feel the Lord leading me, and so, if that is the case, I don’t want to drag my feet, ya know. I plan on going to confession next week, that is, unless I can get there this week.

God bless you and keep you.

I wanted to thank everyone else for your prayers and kind words. I am reading some Scott Hahn books right now, they are helping a bit to. God bless and keep you all.

does it really even matter either way? Either you really did hear a voice or you psychologically told yourslef you heard it without really hearing it in which case God still answered your prayer since God knew you would get or create that thought. Believe what you want to believe but the end result should be the same.

This is true. Thanks…

Well, I can’t follow you with the Adoration of the Host or St. Anthony, but to pick up on something that I posted over at CARM…ultimately you must follow your conscience (very Protestant, huh?). Pray, study, ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit. You can find Christ, and he can find you, in the Catholic Church or the various Protestant Churches. Still, you need to be convinced in your mind that this is where God is leading you. If He is, by all means go. If not, then don’t. But be open to both possibilities…at least up to the point of decision. As the hymn says, “turn your eyes upon Jesus…” If you do, you’ll be fine wherever He leads you.
