Eucharistic Adoration: How Often Does Your Church Offer It?

My church offers Eucharistic Adoration only the first Friday of every month. That seems a bit rare to me. I would like to start to attend the Adoration, but I would like to be able to attend more than once a month.

How often does your church or parish offer Eucharistic Adoration? How often do you attend?

There are times when I would like to be able to attend every day for an hour, but that is just not available at my church. I wonder if some churches have small chapels where Jesus is presented 24/7.

The church I’ve been attending lately only has adoration on first Fridays like yours. The church I went through RCIA at had perpetual adoration so the sacrament was always exposed in the chapel, except for Saturday night and Sunday.
 
At our local parish Eucharistic Adoration is offered for about 4 hours every Friday after daily Mass. Because I have to commute 40 minutes every morning I often don’t get to attend unless I am on vacation.

As for places that have 24/7 Adoration; yes that happens. The three closest parishes near where we used to live all had Perpetual Adoration (aka 24/7) in a chapel. With Perpetual Adoration the goal is to have at least 2 people there at all times. Normally there would be a “team captain” that was responsible for an 8 hour part of the day. They were responsible for making sure that all hours had people scheduled to be attendant on the Lord. I used to take late night shifts (generally 2 or 3 am) twice a week and those times were often covered by only a single person. Many times I would end up there for 2 or 3 hours if someone missed their shift. It happened, but I always figured that gave me more time to spend in the presence of the Lord. 😃

I would suggest getting together a group that would commit to attending Adoration once a week. Once you have that and can show Father that there are people yearning for it he might offer it more often. We did a similar thing when we got our last parish to do Perpetual Adoration. We started out with an “interest survey” and when we showed Father that we had something like 150 people that would commit to 24/7 Adoration he requested the Bishop allow the parish to institute a Perpetual Adoration chapel.
 
I regularly attend two parishes and one chapel attached to a school.

Parish A - adoration once a week in the form of a Holy Hour

Parish B - 24/7, almost. They repose the Blessed Sacrament from just before the Saturday even Mass until after the last Sunday Mass.

School chapel - five hours, during the school day, on the first and third Fridays each month. During Lent, adoration is held during all school hours.
 
My home parish is a small parish that offers Eucharistic Adoration on First Fridays.
There is a nearby nursing home that provides perpetual adoration.
The sisters of St. Francis in LaCrosse, about 25 miles from where I lived in WI, have perpetual adoration.
I currently work overseas, in the Middle East. The only Catholic Church in this country is large. The Eucharistic Adoration Chapel is open from 6am to 9pm. Everybody removes their shoes before entering the Adoration Chapel. Holy Hour is offered every First Friday.
 
24/7 in a dedicated chapel to the Blessed Sacrament. Jesus only returns to the tabernacle when Mass is offered in the church.
 
My Parish has it every Wednesday for a half an hour after 9am Mass.

(My Parish has mostly retirees, so most interested could attend. Not nearly enough do.)
 
The parishes I go to for Mass, the times vary from a few hours 1 day a week to a few days a week with some time on each day.

There is only one perpetual adoration chapel in our diocese that is always open but its about 30 minutes drive for me to reach it if the traffic isn’t heavy. I sometimes go there.
 
My parish offers it on First Fridays from after the morning Mass until Benediction at 5:00pm. It would be difficult to offer it any more frequently than that as our parish is small and we barely have enough people who can committ to a time slot.

Keep in mind that you can go to adoration at any time at your parish. Jesus is in the tabernacle 24/7, even when not in exposition. I often visit my parish on my lunch hour and sit in the quiet church with Him, just the two of us. 🙂
 
We don’t have the numbers to do 24/7 but we have been able to go nonstop from Tuesday morning through Friday morning, so about 72 continuous hours

Unfortunately most churches (that I know of) close for the night, and some are even closed during the day too, except for Mass. 😦
 
My parish’s Eucharistic Adoration chapel opens after the Daily Mass on Monday morning each week, and remains open 24-hours-a-day until the beginning of the Daily Mass on Saturday morning.

It’s, quite literally, the most Eucharistic Adoration we are permitted to have without getting permission from our Bishop to have a perpetual Adoration chapel.

It has gone pretty well (we’ve been doing it about 2 years now), but we still have a few hours that only have one committed adorer, and some other ‘weak spots.’ That’s why we have not yet tried to get approval from the Bishop for a perpetual Adoration chapel.

Maybe next year 😉

my parish and one other parish about fifteen minutes away have Eucharistic Adoration on First Friday from 9am (after morning mass) until 7pm… my parish also has Eucharistic Adoration on the first Monday of the month from 7:15 to 8:15pm … another parish about twenty minutes from me has adoration Monday to Friday from 9am (after morning mass) until 10pm. I usually go to this parish if I can’t make my parish on first Friday. I do an hour every month
 
24/7, and we have a beautiful little chapel with pews, beautiful artwork, flowers, etc. I love visiting Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament there!
 
Once a year - Holy Thursday.

BUT - I can get to Mass a half hour or so early and spend some time with the Lord then at just about any church.

There are a couple of 24/7 Adoration Chapels in town that I can go to.

There is a church near my work that has the doors unlocked during the day. So if I have time before work (and I do most mornings) I can go and spend 15 or 20 or 30 or 45 minutes there with Jesus before work.

What a great thing this is!
 
For us it’s the first Thrus of each month for the entire day. I go just about every month, job permitting.

However in just one town over there is a parish with Perpetual Adoration. So it is available
 
24/7 in a dedicated chapel.

My darling wife and I spent our weekly hour adoring the Blessed Sacrament last night. Jesus wants us to visit him often.
