Despite being a cradle Catholic and only returning in the last few years, I am new to Eucharistic Adoration.

I am overwhelmed by the sense of calm that blankets me whenever I meditate before the Holy Eucharist.

Of course, I understand that’s not why I’m there…but I do have experience with many varieties of relaxation techniques and know it is something far more than just the simple act of sitting still in a quite room. The level of calm I achieve is quite profound.

Another one of the many wonderful surprises that keep popping up as my faith grows stronger. 😃

Does anyone else feel this?

Yes, I know the calm you are talking about. Happens to me every so often and it’s a pretty nice thing.

God Bless,
Matt

It is such a wonderful thing and it happened to me when I first went to adoration. The thing was it kind of was an accident too since I wasn’t planning on going to adoration. It was just a Holy Thursday mass, which also was the first Holy Thursday mass I had gone to in a long time, and they exposed the Eucharist at the end of the mass. So I wasn’t expecting anything. It was the most wonderful thing. I left to get dinner but even decided to go to another parish with a few people that had adoration until a later time. Now I try to go more often but I don’t really get that calmness you describe anymore. It makes me think it is like psycological or something and you can build a tolerance. I still can be unsusually calm though while at adoartion but just don’t experiece a calming feeling as much anymore.
