Hi,
Recently i started pondering more about the eucharist and it’s significance and have a specific question relating to it. Now I understand that it is the real preacence of Christ and it is how we can share in his prescence when we consume the eucharist.
I understand that to be united with God in heaven is the goal we should be aiming for and that communion is a sacred opportunity for us to experience that on earth.
Btw correct me if I’m wrong in any of my understanding, still learning the never ending knowledge of the catholic faith. I recall being taught that Christ is always present within us and lives in our body which is a temple for the holy spirit, my question is how does this differ to receiving the eucharist?
Actually 2 questions, is there any doctrine or church teaching or historical practice that when we consume the eucharist we should either enter a special state or have a special feeling? Besides the immense respect and reverence for Christ?
To sum up my question is there more to receiving the eucharist that I’m not aware of besides being united with God?
Cheers!
