
This one always floors me! We should not touch the Lord with our unholy hands as opposed to our unholy tongues or our unholy stomachs! Where are our hands described as more unholy than the rest of us? I know St. James said it was the tongue that contained a world of evil.
Judging by the font size you must have a point. I just do not get it. I know that the laity are permitted to serve in this capacity. I also know that they are not permitted to determine if the need is present. I think that is the bishop’s responsibility.
It was mentioned earlier that there is nothing wrong with communion just taking longer. While I agree with that sentiment, priest must also take into account practical matters, like parking and turnaround time between Masses. Our one priest already goes from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm every Sunday, trying to squeeze Masses as close as possible.
