Eucharistic ministers

My Priest put in the newsletter + mentioned at Mass we are short on Eucharistist ministers and needs volunteers to be trained. I offered after Mass and Father said to drop him an email. I was just wondering if there was any problem with the fact I was only confirmed this year.

Absolutely not! You are doing exactly what God expects after Confirmation: responsibilities and committment to the Church. Good job! You are putting those 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit into use.

Congrats on your Confirmation! I’m assuming you went through RCIA? If this is so, you are probably more involved in you parish than the vast majority of parishioners who do nothing more than go to Sunday Mass. So from that point of view, you are more than likely qualified for this. If you decide to become an EMHC, I hope you find it as rewarding as I do. I hope you give us an update!

Please note that the priest is the Eucharistic Minister. EMHC’s are NOT Eucharistic Ministers. The non-ordained cannot be so.

Newly Confirmed members of the church are ideal for becoming EMHCs because they recently learned about the great mysteries and teaching of the Church and often show the most reverence.

Well do not be like Jonah where he kept on trying to ignore and dodge God’s call. This should be a sign to you: Where are the others who were confirmed? This is the sad part of those who receive sacraments,especially Confirmation. Indeed,God calls each and one of us at different times,but all confirmed adults should know what is attached to confirmation.
