Bishops in Buffalo told priest to dispose of the Miracle without even looking at it.
How could you insult Christ more?

How come?

Also I’m sure they don’t mean “in the trash”, but down that special drain thingy they have in Churches when they have excess Body and Blood

if there is too much consecrated of either species, they are to be reverently consumed NEVER put down the sacrarium…

Interesting

It’s a great shame that this wasn’t allowed to be properly analysed but still…

True, a culture test would determine if it were simply invasive bacteria. Would doing so be disrespectful towards the Host, since part would be moved to the culture medium?

It may be removed but then so is the host, Jesus is in it but it’s not him in its entirety so it itself is removed, if you see what I mean.

Disposal afterwards would require care though.

I have to say that I have seen red mould on bread myself but I have never added water to it so I wouldn’t know what it looked like in the same condition as the one above.

And speaking of the one above, I think that Our Lord’s will is done.

Edited to avoid misunderstandings!

It is troubling if a priest thought this could be a miracle and the bishop wasn’t even interested in any investigation.

To be fair, the host was already in the process of being disposed of – it was soaking in water and was in the process of breaking down. Moreover, it was water in an ablution cup (which means that, very likely, it was water that had had fingers dipped in it.) In addition, it seems to have happened only after the host sat in the water for a period of time (which would putatively give it time for a growth).

So, at this point, it’s difficult to say what happened… but it’s not possible to say whether it was or wasn’t anything other than bacterial growth (and certainly doesn’t warrant the claim that “they dumped a Eucharistic miracle!”)…

I disagree, I believe the Bishops should have looked at it and been thorough, to determine if it was Our Blessed Lord bleeding. It looked to me like Blood and the witnesses all seemed to think it was blood.

Please provide evidence of this. I’ve looked and could not find any.

It looks to me that from the picture that the host has “completely dissolved”. Jesus is not present in a dissolved host.
