Yes AB blood type was running through human veins in Jesus time.

Can you link the original thread you were reading?

  1. just so I understand you, did AB blood exist in HUMANS before Christ?
  2. I’m not sure…

Are you talking about where I mentioned the Shroud?

In post#22 I was answering questios 2 and 4, not 2 and 3. This darn new format won’t let me change that.

Yes, AB blood type was running through veins of humans during the time of the Exodus out of Egypt ( Ancient Egyptians)
  1. Scientists will do their job and work that one out in time. We don’t need to be too concerned about it.

I was reading an old thread about Eucharistic Miracles which led to a discussion about Jesus Miracles in general and how they are all blood type AB. Someone posted that the blood type AB wasn’t around during Jesus’ lifetime.
Can you link this old thread in here. I would like to know what that person’s reason was for saying AB blood type wasn’t around 2020 years ago

I’m sorry, I looked but I can’t find it. If I find it I’ll post it.

i had always thought “o” was the “first” human blood type

To answer two questions asked by OP: Hope and Brian
i had always thought “o” was the “first” human blood type
Did humans have the blood type AB during Jesus’ lifetime or not?

Evolution

No this probably isn’t the way it happened. Most likely A came first. And then mutations in the original A gene caused B and O to appear.

One way scientists figured this out was by using something called coalescence analysis. Basically, this is where you compare DNAs and figure out when they used to be the same.

From this kind of analysis scientists concluded that A came first. Then, about 3.5 million years ago, the A gene mutated in someone and blood type B was born. The same thing happened about a million years ago for O blood type. So O is actually the most recent blood type. Read further

So, then, TheHolyTrinity, was blood type AB around during Jesus’ lifetime or not?

How many different “yes” answers do you need? 🙂

According to the article I posted earlier the answer is yes, A blood type is the oldest. Next B and AB then O which is the newest blood type. Remember humans where around long before Jesus was born.

ABO-typing of ancient skeletons from Israel.

Abstract

Sixty-eight ancient skeletons, unearthed at Jerusalem and En Gedi and, according to the archeological data belonging to Jewish residents of these places from about 1,600 to 2,000 years ago, were ABO-typed by means of the hemagglutination-inhibition test. The blood groups of 13 skeletons were undiagnosable and the remaining 55 showed the following distribution: **30.91% A-group, 14.54% B-group, 50.91% AB-group and 3.64% O-group.

** According to these findings, the population to which these skeletons belonged must have had a high frequency of genes IA and IB, and a low occurrence of O blood group and its related IO gene. Link reference
In theory Our Lady Mary was AB blood type as the A-B-O incompatibility occurs when:
  • the mother is type O and the baby is B, A, or AB
  • the mother is type A and their baby is B or AB
  • the mother is type B and their baby is A or AB
So if incompatable then mother’s body will produce an auto-immune response that attacks the fetus or newborn’s blood cells as if they were a bacterial or viral invader. Though there is a posibilty that Jesus was Our Lady Mary 's first born that there was no or minimal immune response.

Slightly off course here:

ABO Blood Types and Neanderthals

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

The gene that produces the ABO blood system is polymorphic in humans, meaning that there are more than two possible expressions of this gene. The genes for both A and B blood types are dominant, and O type is recessive, meaning that people who are type A or B can have genotypes of either AA or AO (or BB and BO) and still be A (or B) blood type, but to have type O blood one must have a genotype of OO. Various selection factors may favor different alleles, leading to the maintenance of distinct blood groups in modern human populations. Though chimpanzees also have different blood groups, they are not the same as human blood types. While the mutation that causes the human B blood group arose around 3.5 Ma, the O group mutation dates to around 1.15 Ma. When scientists tested whether Neanderthals had the O blood group they found that two Neanderthal specimens from Spain probably had the O blood type, though there is the possibility that they were OA or OB (Lalueza-Fox et al. 2008). Though the O allele was likely to have already appeared before the split between humans and Neanderthals, it could also have arisen in the Neanderthal genome via gene flow from modern humans. I hope this lot helps you further.

When you answered “yes” that was in response to my question if AB blood type was around during Jesus’ lifetime, right?

Did humans have the blood type AB during Jesus’ lifetime or not?

If not, what does that mean for Eucharistic Miracles and the Shroud of Turin?
The burial Shroud of Turin is the cloth that Jesus was laid in after his death and crucifixion. You can see a picture of it in the Hungarian Pray Codex dated in 1192 way earlier than the false news carbon dating dated it. Keep trying to discredit it though.

What the heck??? I know all about the Shroud and believe. It is the burial cloth of Christ.

Are you responding to my question in my Post #33, asking if AB blood was around during Jesus’ lifetime?

'In theory Our Lady Mary was AB blood type as the A-B-O incompatibility occurs when:

What you wrote is not completely correct. The ABO life threatening incompatibility is about transfusion, not pregnancy. ABO incompatibily mother child could give some moderate problem after birth (jaundice, anemia). The very serious incompatibily during pregnancy is due to Rhesus factor (meaning if the mother is Rh negative and the baby is Rh positive). Since O is recessive while A and B are dominant alleles the only thing you can say is that if Jesus was AB the mother was surely not group O (each parent gives to the child only one alles so Mary gave either A or B).
