How can you find Human blood and extract its DNA? As I said in earlier post, Santarem Eucharist was examined by secular scientists who had no idea what they were looking at. It was a heart muscle, there was Human blood, there was no DNA. That’s impossible. Only God can do that. Therefore, it’s the real thing, sanctioned by the Church after rigorous examination.

In human blood, there are red and white corpuscles. Only the white corpuscles have DNA. There are approximately 5 million red blood cells in every cubic millimeter of blood; there are only 3,000 - 7,000 white blood cells in the same amount of blood.

Finding DNA in blood is harder than in other tissue.

DNA is found in all cells of the human body except red blood cells. Half the DNA is found in the sperm and egg cells.

If there was heart muscle, there was DNA. If not, it was not heart muscle.
If there was blood and no DNA, no problem. White blood cells are much more rare and it would still be blood even if there were no DNA.

Can you provide me with some links to articles that address that the DNA was absent? I couldn’t find anything. I’d like to read more about it.

The Church investigates it to make sure that it is not fake. For example, in the 70s, a team of scientists investigated the Eucharist from the Miracle of Lanciano. They determined it was real flesh and blood. Perhaps this video can help.

I know, but what I’m wondering is if it’s possible if someone, a prankster, ADDED blood and tissue to the hosts, if their tampering would be detected.

In what century were they added. Tests are often performed over 10 20 or a 100 years.

The scientists would detect it. Plus, there is a difference between simply adding blood to bread and transubstantiation occurring. We’re not Lutherans, we don’t believe in consubstantiation.
