Is anyone else as fascinated with Eucharistic Miracles as I am? The most recent one I know of is the one from Buenos Aires, investigated by Dr. Gomez and further investigated by Dr. Zugibe.

What I want to know is, with the miracle in Lanciano, there is a lot of emphasis on the fact that the weight is the same no matter how they weigh the clots. What does that suggest? I thought maybe it means that no matter how much of the Eucharist is consumed, we get the full body, blood, soul and Divinity of Jesus, even I’d we get just a crumb of the Eucharist?

Any ideas?

Also, in learning about the Miracle in Buenos Aires, I saw a video on YouTube where Dr. Gomez said that the Host had been dropped during Communion and read other reports that the Host hadn’t been dropped but was found in a candle holder after being discarded.

Does anyone know which is correct? I’d assume that since Gomez was so involved in this, his explanation would be correct rather than a writer who relayed this information in an article?
Thoughts?

I LOVE Eucharistc Miracles. You should get podcasts from Dr. James Dobbins. Google it. He has a truckload of talks about it.

Thanks! Our neighboring parish had a display up of all the Eucharist Miracles a few years ago. It was really neat.

Another great book is “Eucharistic Miracles” by Joan Carroll Cruz. I would suggest buying your books from EWTN.Com
or a Catholic Religious store near you so as to patronize our own. God Bless, Memaw

.
There are, in fact, many details that are problematic in this Beunos Aires story.

Coincidentally, I was planning to interview Dr. Zugibe, who lives near me, in the next few weeks to get the full story and clear up some false facts that have been passed around on the internet…but he passed away a few weeks ago.

.
I thought Frederick Zugibe died years ago! I could have sworn I saw an online obituary.I actually sent condolences to his children, who own a winery and have facebook accounts.

can’t imagine he would have been falling over himself to meet you with the above premise “clear up some false facts”.

Wow, that’s awkward.

He died September 6 this year.

You may be referring to his son Frederick who died 2006.

Thoughts?
I have thoroughly researched this alleged miracle and I don’t find any credibility in it.

The Church has not approved it.

Way too many unanswered questions and inconsistencies from Gomez that I’ve posted on in the past so won’t repeat here.

The doctor died sometime last month.

I tried Googleing to see if the CC approved this miracle or not and am still
not sure if they do or not. Anyone else know?

Yes, the Eucharistic miracles fascinate me, too. However if you do not see the miracle of bread and wine turning into the body and blood of Christ, or the miracle of the sacrifice being offered to those who can never truly be worthy, everyday at Mass, you might be looking to far, or you have not considered just what a miracle is!

Peace and all good!

Please do, we don’t know where your past posts are. God Bless, Memaw

I think most of us do understand what your saying and I do love the Mass and am aware of all you said but God must be wanting us to love HIS miracles too. We wouldn’t have them with out HIM. God Bless. Memaw

Yes, I had researched it as well and posted on this one in the past…and found the same result.
I found the same for many others that are commonly talked about, too.
👍
I can tell you this: As a reporter in mainstream news, if one of these miracles was actually confirmed by non-biased doctors and such, it would be front page news–be it in the New York Times or the Huffington Post or whatever.
But I’m not sure if any have been yet…have they?
Anyone know of any?
None that I’m aware of.

All those I looked into were just not credible, to me.

I appreciate for those with faith, that’s not the case and respect the fact they believe a miracle to have occurred.

The evidence is just way short of being convincing for me.

You said in either this thread or another one about the same topic that the CC hasn’t approved this miracle (anyone know if this is true or not?) so what is your opinion on the Church approved Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano?

We have a Pauline Books And Media store in my town. Love it there.

so what is your opinion on the Church approved Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano?
Questions that arise for me are around the chain of custody over some 1300 years.

A scientific test for flesh and blood, on flesh and blood, will find, flesh and blood.

I might be more convinced when we have a scientific test that proves beyond doubt the flesh and blood was once bread and wine.

There is not a single piece of evidence that the flesh and blood was once bread and wine and did indeed turn into flesh and blood.

Until then …

Read up on it, from reliable sources, you might be surprised. Better yet, go over there and see it for yourself. God Bless, Memaw

In addition to Athiestgirl’s thoughts on the miracle of Lanciano, I’d like to know what A Protestants views are regarding Eucharistic Miracles.
