I’ve read about this miracle from Catholic sources.

I don’t find it credible for the reasons I gave.

I know it is completely off topic but I love your photos,Sarah.🙂

Could you ever make the call to Santa Maria in Buenos Aires?

What is your opinion of Lanciano and other Church approved Eucharistic Miracles?
I’ve addressed Lanciano in my last reply.

I don’t find it credible.

The Church does.

Some time ago I did read up on quite a few Eucharistic Miracles and none of them appeared to me to be credible, leaving many more questions than answers.

One issue I kept coming across was trying to track down sources independent of the Catholic Church.

Another was the vagueness in some reports, where you read things like ‘‘send to a laboratory and examined by an illustrious professor of chemistry’’ when the lab, the technicians, and the illustrious professor are never named.

And with many, the length of time that passed, often many hundreds of years, without any verifiable chain of custody other than Church statements.

These are just some of the issues I came up against in all the alleged miracles I looked at.

So in short, I don’t find any of them credible.

I understand the role they may play from the Church point of view, that of strengthening the faithful, but if I believed that at the moment of consecration by the priest, the bread and wine change into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus I wouldn’t need a 1300 year old host to prove it.

you mean you didn’t find enough evidence for you, there is nothing in your posts that disproves them or even casts doubt on them. you can’t find the name of the lab on the internet that tested them so its false.
or
There is not a single piece of evidence that the flesh and blood was once bread and wine and did indeed turn into flesh and blood
and the custody been just by the church, the church keeps impeccable records even to their detriment.
seems like your clutching at straws.
but your entitled to your opinion. As they say no amount of evidence will convince those that don’t believe.

Or those that don’t want to believe. I wonder what would happen if he went there himself and actually saw the Miracle of Lanciano ??? God Bless. Memaw

I have no intention of getting into an argument with you about this.

I’ve posted extensively in the past on Buenos Aires, Gomez and Zuigbe and don’t intent to repeat it all here again.

Having looked at Church sources and as many other sources as I could for many of the claimed miracles, I don’t find them credible.

In the cases of those approved, the Church does.

As do you and many others.

Which I respect.

What convinces you doesn’t convince me.

that’s great if you have posted extensively before then that proves they are false.

Or those that don’t want to look further into things 🤷

My screen name, which you can clearly see, is atheistgirl, and I sign off every post Sarah x 🙂 and you refer to me as a ‘he’

Really? 🤷

And how do you know I haven’t been to the sites of some of these alleged miracles

Please, keep your sarcastic remarks to yourself.

If you find you can’t engage with me respectfully and charitably, please don’t engage with me at all.

Thanks.

sorry but you came to the thread and your reasons for saying that they are not credible are weak and you refuse to debate.
fair enough ill leave you to casting slurs at God’s miracles. continuing would be casting pearls at swine.

Sorry Sarah, but I wasn’t looking at your post when I responded. Have you been here??? The one at Lanciano has been investigated. God Bless, Memaw

I have elaborated and debated previously and had many many discussions with people here on this forum regarding Buenos Aires, Gomez and Zuigbe.

If you find my reasons for saying Lanciano are weak, well, 🤷

You seem to be of the opinion that if I, personally, don’t demonstrably prove Lanciano false, then it must be true.

I’ve looked at what sources I could find, mostly from the Catholic Church, and I don’t find it credible for the reasons I’ve already stated.

I’ve said I respect the fact the Church does find it credible and as such, among the many Eucharistic Miracle claims, it has approved this one.

That’s great.

It doesn’t convince me, and, considering the time elapsed, until a test is conducted that proves, scientifically and beyond doubt, that the flesh and blood in question were indeed at one time bread and wine, I will remain skeptical.

The Catholic Church has a long and proud tradition of encouraging doubters.

Thankfully the Catholic Church does not view doubting as ‘‘casting slurs’’ at God, to quote you.

I’ve asked you to please refrain from being disrespectful and uncharitable when engaging with me.

You appear to be unable to do so.

Referring to discussion with me as ‘‘casting pearls before swine’’ doesn’t tick that box I’m afraid.

Please do not interact with me further as I have nothing more to say to you.

Thanks.

🤷 I thought I made it clear I’m not going to.

Well, there were doubters even in Jesus’s day. Always have been, always will be.

I’d also like to point out that when the EM was first examined by Dr. Gomez, the cardinals representatives were present. As far as the benefitting on books and publicity, this was kept secret for several years at the request of now-Pope Francis. 🙂
