So couldn’t this problem be easily solved if all had to receive by mouth and not by hand?

A good point—it proves that the presence of Christ in the Eucharist is a fact and even Satan would acknowledge that. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to make a joke here, but when Satanists try to steal the Eucharist, it seems to me like its another affirmation that it is truely the Body of Our Lord. I mean the devil wants it afterall. I remember hearing some story of a Bishop going to perform an exorcism on someone, and when he entered the house, a bunch of knives flew at him. I just laughed, thinking how foolish the demons were as they would have only strengthed the faith of the Bishop and those around him, as well as those who heard the story.

Absolutely correct!when Satanists try to steal the Eucharist, it seems to me like its another affirmation that it is truely the Body of Our Lord.
Indeed - it was for this reason that reception on the tongue was introduced over 1000 years ago. It seems that “enlightened modern " man is just the same as 'benighted medieval” man.One way to stop this is for reception on the tongue. If one says the tongue is just as unworthy as the hand, I ask, why then complicate the matter !!! dang two body parts to deal with.
I have noticed an increase in sacraligeous acts towards the Blessed Sacrament recently. In the past year we have caught 2 people trying to leave the Church with the Blessed Sacrament without consuming it, I dont know if I just did not notice before or if this goes on more than we know. One was a woman who tryed to put it in her pocket and walked out of the Church, thankfully our Priest stopped distributing communion immediatly and ran after her. He scolded her then made her consume our Lord immediatly.
Several months later I had to run after one guy who while running out the door was wiping the Host all over the Church. When I confronted him he squared off with me and wanted to fight I did not but just told him how disrespectful that was towards our Lord. The Priest then came and thanked me for catching him and gave me a blessing.
I would say be vigilant and since we all do not recieve our Lord on the tongue we can only do our part in protecting against sacralige.
Has this happened in your parish?
I was taught this as well. I was taught by Polish nuns both in Poland and here and that is what she told me to do. I have never chewed the Host.PS I remember when I was receiving First Holy Communion our principal, a S.C.C., told us that we could not chew the host. I still remember her saying in her thick Brooklyn accent, “How would you like if someone chewed on your finger?!” I always wondered if this was something everyone was taught or just a personal belief of hers.
When reception on the tongue was common, Satanists would use some common phamaceutical products to temporarily stop the salivary glands. They simply retained the host in their mouths until they had departed the church. So couldn’t this problem be easily solved if all had to receive by mouth and not by hand?

I’ve heard it’s to try to digest as much of the Host as possible, otherwise some bits and pieces may stick on your teeth and get mixed with regular food and such.I was taught this as well. I’m not sure I understand your reasoning. You would think that the fact that Satan has no problem believing in the Real Presence it would be a wake up call for not only we Catholics, but protestants too. You don’t ever hear about the crackers and grape juice getting stolen for satanic rituals.
Some priest I was listening to on the radio made that point. They call it a black mass for a reason. The satanic groups know the Eucharist is the real deal. They don’t mimic with sacrilege the “service” of protestants.
That is the point. The satanist believes that their black mass will be valid with a consecrated host. But of course, they are powerless against God.Perhaps the reason that people are not trying to steal bread, crackers, or other groceries is because they recognize that by and large Protestants view the communion elements as representative of Jesus rather than Jesus Himself.
It is my understanding that this was an innovation introduced at or as a by-product of Vatican II.This is why it is a problem that there is no communion rails anymore. It leaves open the possibility of abusing the Sacrament.
Me and my wife attended a mass at Saint Andrew’s Church in NYC. One of the Eucharistic Ministers was a woman dressed like a prostitute. She kept touching the hosts all throughout the mass. Her hands were filthy, she was dressed shabbily in street clothes and she kept giving nasty dirty looks towards my wife.
We walked out during Communion. We did not want to receive from such an unholy person. She looked like she was putting spells on the Eucharist. It was a real disgrace. This grown woman also did the altar server and lecture functions.
