Please be nice. Dr. Jack Van Impe, himself a Protestant, has done wonders in accepting Catholics as “Brothers and Sisters In Christ” as well as passing that message on. Name calling, in my opinion, is never nice.
 
NF’s got a good point there Jaypeeto3, ad hominem is against the Forum Rules and we don’t appreciate it much when someone makes rude remarks about His Holiness do we?

What is to stop a doctor from examining a potential abortion patient and then walk away pronouncing that “an abortion is not medically indicated or advisable” and leave it at that? I don’t see, at present, that a prosecutor or policeman has sufficient medical knowledge to make an arrest, much less secure a conviction against a refusnik doctor.

What if a doctor were to simply say “I am not an abortion specialist just a regular obstetrician, you need to be in more qualified hands.”? How does the EU propose to prosecute that?

I wasn’t TRYING to be rude, and I sincerely hope you are not comparing the Holy Father to the likes of Jack Van Impe.
Van Impe may be for all I know a sweet and sincere person. That’s not what I meant when I referred to him as a screwball.
Have you ever watched his program???
I’ve seen it two or three times, maybe four times over the years, and the guy has a scripture verse for every current event, no matter how insignificant. He rattles off scripture verses the way an auctioneer recites bids, while his wife Rexella looks adoringly at him the whole time. Seriously, that is no way to do theology.

Well, when “they” were president of the U.S. the Clintons and the Democrats tried to get laws passed which would require that all prospective surgeons be trained to perform abortions, no exceptions. Maybe the European Union will pass something similar to that, who knows.
