An old friend of mine works in an assisted living residence. She was informed last week that “Sarah’s” family has decided it’s time to implement her living will and let her die. Sarah is, I believe, in her 60’s and is unable to communicate much verbally (she said “yes” in response to a question last week, however) and is unable to walk alone (though she walked about 100 feet last week with assistance).
The staff was informed that Sarah will be slowly starved to death, her food intake diminished until she dies. She cannot feed herself, so a staff member has to feed her – not with a feeding tube, but with a spoon or fork!
My friend “Kelly” is in dialogue with a prolife lawyer recommended by her diocese’s prolife department. And she is pursuing other avenues to stop this murder from taking place.
Please, pray and make sacrifices for an end to this murder. No sacrifice is too little, for “the moment it is given to God, it becomes infinite” (Mother Teresa). Please also pray for Kelly that the Holy Spirit guide her in her actions and give her the strength to stand up for Life.
God bless you.
