Moscow, December 14, Interfax - Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sees dialogue with the Catholic Church as an opportunity to reduce persecutions of Christians across the world.

“Evading dialogue with the Catholic Church now would be wrong: we defend the same values both in public and in private life. We need to establish such cooperation in the face of the non-Christian world as would enable us to multiply our own forces. Including what, I think, deserves positive treatment - our shared position on the situation in the Middle East,” the Russian Orthodox Church leader said at a meeting with representatives of the Youth Public Chamber and the Chamber of Young Legislators.

Also from the article, the last paragraph. Though it’s likely to be overlooked by the avid ecumenists of CAF:

This is an insult to an Orthodox Christian. Orthodox see them-selves as consecrated and as only guardians of Holy Catholic Apostolic faith.
 
Patriarch Kirill is a very holy man and is working hard within the Russian Orthodox Church. They became Christian shortly after the Schism.

We have to pray very hard for this to come about. He is values communion within the Universal Christian Church.

It was after the schism that the metropolitanate of Kievan Rus was transferred from Kiev to Moscow, but Christianity came prior to the schism.

You honestly can’t be angry that a catholic says such. The poster was just stating church teaching and the hope for divided bodies to come back to the church. You can disagree but you can’t be upset about a catholic saying catholic stuff.

I apologise to the Orthodox Christians. However it would be a great day to be in union with them for me.

Listening to Patriarch Kirill whose devotion and faithfulness to Sacred Scripture is exemplary and inspirational, this might mean we get rid of apostates and progressive liberals who are decimating the numbers of the faithful with their waffling theological garbage

It is a great day when we can all say we are members of the Universal Church…aka St. Ignatius of Antioch…‘He Ekklesia Katolika’…THIS the context of Catholic…Greek…universal --one, holy, universal, apostolic.

Thanks Ryan… I know Russia came into the fold around 1000AD…and they have so much to offer in their music and adoration as well. I was told by my Russian Orthodox friend that they are rebuilding their churches using pre fab…the old wooden ones are just simply getting old and wearing away.

KGB agent thing is getting old, just like the KGB. Patriarch Cyril is priest’s son and was raised his whole life for the Church, and he also did suffer persecutions, starting from his childhood, he was often mistreated by teachers and mocked by other children, because his father was a priest.
Russian Orthodox Church before the revolution was much more anti-Vatican than today. So if It is really led by KGB agents, you should thank them.
