No, pay attention. PR was responding to a post by dronald, who alluded to the idea of “fake” catholics (i.e., “people who say [they’re] ‘catholic’… [but have] long abandoned the faith or never really entered into it”).
The thread is about Evangelicals, not about fake Catholics. Dronald said he was responding to a post, isn’t that enough? Its obvious that she persists to hijack the thread by prodding for even more about fake Catholics.

So you and I are the wheat and the fake Catholics and false teachers are the weeds.

Both our Church’s bear fruit.
Jesus decides that, not you or I. I suspect you already know that it’s not really for us to judge people, just principles.

There is only one church, the one Jesus established. Believers, even those rescued by Christ via means other than that Jesus originally intended when He founded that church do indeed bear fruit wherever they are found. On that much, we can agree!

What do you mean? Who are the “fake Catholics”?
Nominal Catholics, Catholics in name only, cultural Catholics (identifying themselves as Catholic because they were baptized or churched that way as children but don’t practice, but most especially, those who claim to be Catholic yet openly defy the teachings of the Church. Those are the most damaging, especially public figures.

I don’t know how to identify a fake Catholic from a real Catholic.
It’s easy. When you ask them to leave their weapons at the door, the real Catholics will give you their rosaries. :D:D:D

I’m kidding, I’m kidding. 😛

I would never call someone a fake Catholic. The authenticity of their faith is between them and God.

I always accept whatever nomenclature the individual identifies himself as.

You are being charitable, of course, and I must agree that the authenticity of one’s faith is between them and God.

I can also see the point that in general, name calling is not productive for any respectable dialogue. Disparaging appelations will not benefit our efforts to strive for unity in the bond of peace.
