Reuters has a story out today which cites La Civilta Cattolica in which a Jesuit has suggested that evangelizing in the simulation game “Second Life” is a good idea.
I have no experience with Second Life. I only know of it because of news reports. I did try out The Sims and World of Warcraft, both places where people adopt new personas which they sometimes take seriously.
The author of the article cautioned that Second Life has an erotic dimension,. But he also states that people who play such games are often looking for more out of life. And that this makes for fertile ground.
