Okay, who is Mr. Alamo and why 170 years?

He was one of the second-tier anti-Catholic preachers (behind Chick, et al.) I don’t recall what he went to prison for.

In his book “Catholicism and Fundamentalism”, Karl Keating devotes a full chapter to Chick, Rivera and*** Alamo***. Appropriately, the chapter`s titled “At the Fringe”!

After getting on the Internet only a few years back, i just casually googled Chick, Alamo, John Todd, Rivera etc, and hit paydirt with Alamo: a heap of news articles; and then, in 2009 (was it?), the news of his arrest. ive been following it ever since. So, its just by pure chance that i know his recent history.

Theres more than just the underage girls: he promotes ***polygamy***, and uses the Old Testament as "proof" that its still OK. He had a length of timber which was used to thrash children who stepped out of line: he called it “The Board of Education”. He was/is a sadist.

His cult was a true cult, with near-total mind-and-body-control.

He deserved what he got.
