Evangelizing Mormons?

The Bible and Catechism weren’t made to make any comparisons and contrasts to the Mormon religion, for instance, that’s all I mean.
Ok, I think I understand.

I still stand by my original comment.

But, if for some reason unknown to me the Bible and the Catechism do not give one enough foundation to explain the Christian faith, then I suppose I would just recommend anyone interested to search (“Google”) words like “catholic, apologetics, mormon” and see what comes up.

zipperc98, welcome. 🙂 I am a former Mormon (raised as), left long ago for atheism, baptized Catholic in 2008. So! The difficulties and worries you are facing are, sadly, more normal than unique.

One thing to remember, from a Catholic point of view is this:

**1637 **In marriages with disparity of cult the Catholic spouse has a particular task: “For the unbelieving husband is consecrated through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is consecrated through her husband.” It is a great joy for the Christian spouse and for the Church if this “consecration” should lead to the free conversion of the other spouse to the Christian faith. Sincere married love, the humble and patient practice of the family virtues, and perseverance in prayer can prepare the non-believing spouse to accept the grace of conversion.

🙂

Being in a mixed marriage myself (my husband is an atheist), I have found the above to be very insightful and helpful. I pray for him at every Mass and I trust God is calling him to Himself, just as He did me.

Peace be with you.

Howdy, does anyone know any good resources for evangelizing Mormons? A coworker asked me to take her to Mass and is interested in learning more. She’s a moral liberal in some senses so it would be a bit of a jump, but all things are possible with Christ!

PS, this is not an invitation for getting sidetracked: but I took her to an Anglican use Mass. It was risky to introduce an outsider to an aspect of Catholicism that confuses even many Catholics, but the traditional hymns (read: from before the 20th century) and the reverence turned out to be just the ticket! She even recognized the tune of the very first hymn.
this site doesn’t go too deep into it, but it may be a good starting point.

i pray for you and good luck.
