Evangelizing to Mormons

Please pray for me as I attempt to explain and defend the Catholic faith to two Mormon missionaries. I agreed to meet with them in a few of days, and I am a bit nervous.

I would say that I’m a pretty strong Catholic who knows a lot about my faith. I am really into apologetics and I have a desire to share that faith with others. However, I don’t know much about Mormon beliefs. :confused: Please pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and direct our conversation.

I would look up some points about Mormonism first.

May the Spirit speak the truth of the Church through your mouth.

I would check Patrick Madrid.com. He has written books on apologetics and has had debates with Mormons. He has said to be very prepared they are very highly trained.

I will be praying for you.

Dear Jessica,

i said a prayer. Hope they are open to the Holy Spirit, as their teaching that singles, even a Mother Teresa, are in a lower part of heaven; about the Holy Trinity, Mr. Smith being the New Revelation (not Jesus) and becoming/there being different gods on different planets and baptizing after death – are so wrong and misleading.

Our Holy Spirit be with you, dear!

Praying for you! Remember though, those Mormons are trained to “refute” anything you say! Also, they are also trained to utterly disregard anything they can’t “refute”! :(:mad: If you try to refute the Great Apostasy, believe me, you can mention anything and everything about the gates of Hell not prevailing, Jesus never leaving or forsaking the Church, etc etc etc and they’ll attempt to “refute” it. I tried that before and failed badly! I only gave them one verse they couldn’t refute. Unfortunately, they only disregarded it! Thankfully, it probably left them confused and embarrassed (humbled). I don’t remember this verse or I’d happily give it to you! 👍

Remember oh most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee oh Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Jesus Christ - may others know that the only way to salvation is through you and the true living God. May they accept no imitations, only the one and true God!

But remember Jesus sent out His disciples in two’s.
 
Praying for you: that the Holy Spirit will enlighten you and give you his words, and that your guardian angel will enlighten, guard, rule and guide you. It would be better if you had another good Catholic to help you because it is true that Jesus sent his disciples out in twos: that way one could help the other out when at a loss. You might not be able to convince these Mormons on the spot, but your words accompanied by prayers might help convert them in the future. Praying for your success with these two. Amen.
