Yesterday I was holding my 9 month old granddaughter and I pointed to the small statue of the child Jesus on my kitchen window sill and said, “Baby Jesus”. Then I carried her into the hallway where I have a larger Infant of Prague, and again I said, “Baby Jesus” and she just stared at it. Next, I pointed to the picture of the Divine Mercy and said, “And there is Jesus!”. Then, I pointed to the picture of Mother of Perpetual Help and said, “There is baby Jesus and his Mother, Mary!” And she just looked at each. But I wondered if I was confusing her by showing her both baby Jesus and an adult Jesus.

This morning we sat behind my daughter and her family at Mass. After Communion, my daughter had her little one sitting on her lap, when suddenly the little one pointed to the two plaster stations of the cross ( Jesus is stripped of His Garments and Jesus being nailed to the cross) that were next to their pew and said, “BABY!” “BABY SHE SHUS!”.

Awwwww…love it!😉

That’s awesome!

When I was little I made my mom laugh by automatically dipping my hand in a fountain next to the door of a garden center and making the Sign of the Cross before going through the door. Little kids are so much more aware of things than adults sometimes give them credit for! 🙂

So true,cute story!🙂

Sweet!

My son, who is 2, always recognises Jesus. He also says ‘amen’ after our prayers and tries to make the sign of the cross. It always makes my heart melt. 😃
