I am taking RCIA classes to join the church. I have been divorced twice before and neither was catholic. Do I need to get an annulment before I can take communion, and will I be able to marry a catholic in the future?

Hi,
You don’t have to get annulment in order to receive Holy Communion so long as you are celibate. You do need to have an annulment before you can get married in the Catholic Church. For a Catholic to marry outside of the Catholic Church is a sin and such a person may not receive Holy Communion until an annulment is received and the person marries in the Catholic Church.
