Ever have a favor from St. Anthony?

I am so grateful to St. Anthony for his intercession on my behalf. He comes through in the most amazing ways that I find myself constantly humbled. For some reason I never thought to request anything more of him than help finding lost objects. Thanks to the “saints” on this thread, I’m going to include St. Anthony in my prayer life more often.

Last night, I thought about this thread while praying. My thought was that if St. Anthony was very well known for helping us find lost objects, his intercession could also help us find our way back to Jesus whenever we feel lost. He was the one holding Baby Jesus in his arms. 🙂 So, I prayed for this purpose.
 
Here is “The Litany of the Lost”:

Lord have mercy. (Lord have mercy)
Christ have mercy. (Christ have mercy)
Lord have mercy. (Lord have mercy)

will help us to grow in Your love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
  • This is one of the litanies that I say pretty regularly to St. Anthony for intervention. He is beyond a doubt one of the very best Saint friends I have in heaven!! I think he is just AWESOME!👍

While St. Anthony has helped me many times, I “introduced” him to my best friend who is Jewish and he helps her all the time 😃

It’s funny, growing up in New York, Jews and Catholics know a lot
about each other’s religions. Her family usually spends Christmas with my family and we go to her house for Passover.

We are both very strong in our respective faiths.
 
St. Anthony has found lost objects for me more times than I can possibly remember.

I ask his help all the time when I can’t find things.

I thought of this when I read a post about the possibility of St. Anthony helping with more lost things other than lost items. He has helped my family with more than lost items.😉 (although he has helped me function with finding keys, purses etc. more times than I can tell you:blush: ) I just really love him.
 
I went on a trip to Boston one Summer with my husband and his family to celebrate the feast of St. Anthony. I had been missing a beautiful necklace since Christmas the previous year that my mother had given me. I was certain I had thrown it away be accident. I arrived at my mother’s home after the trip and when moving a couch for her, my necklace fell out on the ground! I was surprised, but immediately thought of St. Anthony!

Some years ago I lost my watch. I was too tired and too busy to care for a week to bother St. Anthony about this matter. Finally I said a prayer late in the night.

The next morning we drove to the parish of St. Anthony of Padua, which was some miles from our home and attended mass there. After mass I stayed behind a little and my husband went back to the car park to wait for me. It has been raining for a week and the grass nearby was long and wet. The ground was muddy. My husband saw something shine in the grass and out of curiosity bent down and scooped up a handfull of mud and guess what? My watch was there in the handful of mud. Explanation?- we had attended a mass at that church the previous week.

MANY! The one favor that my husband and I will never forget was the time I lost the DIAMOND to my engagement ring in the house. I lost it for months…I remember finding out I was pregnant and asking him to help me find it. I promised to name my baby after him if he would do me this favor. SURE ENOUGH, months after losing it I found my precious diamond in…THE JUNK DRAWER…of all places?!@#!!!

Unfortuntately, I had a miscarriage but my little Anthony is in heaven and he is always with me.

Oh yes, like most of you who have shared their experiences, I have countless favors answered by St. Anthony. Whenever I misplace anything, I just thought of him and say a prayer…and behold… whatever it is I always find it.

I tend to misplace things a lot so St. Anthony hears a lot from me, lol. One big thing was I lost my camera in a hotel in Paris and I prayed to St. Anthony and was able to get it shipped back home. My mom actually bought me a St. Anthony pin for one of my trips so that I wouldn’t lose anything. 🙂
 
What a coincidence that this thread was revived at this time, right when I’ve been praying to St. Anthony. My husband returned from a trip this past Tuesday, but one of his suitcases didn’t. After numerous calls to the airline, we’re still no closer to finding the bag. Just today, however, I opened a piece of mail from the Capuchin Fathers and found a leaflet of prayers to St. Anthony enclosed. Maybe St. Anthony is trying to tell me he’s working on the case.
 
You’ve got to be kidding right? I think he has been made my defacto Guardian Angel–I’m so scatterbrained I lose everything. And the more I organize everything the more likely I am not to find it!!
 
My Mom prays to Tony as she calls him whenever she loses something. But my Dad said he would only work for mom because she is itlain and not for him because he was polish. Maybe thats why he dosen’t work for me. just a little joke in the family.
 
My friend couldn’t find her car key. We all spent 10 to 15 minutes looking for it all over the place. All of a sudden, I thought of St. Anthony and said a prayer. As soon as I finished my prayer, within few seconds, my friend said “I found the key”. 🙂
 
Oh yeah, I’m scatterbrained, so St Anthony tends to hear a bit from me too.

Last week I thought I’d lost an earring on an outing, and while I didn’t specifically pray to St Anthony he did pop into my thoughts as he most always does when I’m looking for something.

Lo and behold, the earring had fallen out in the kitchen and not outdoors at all! It was safe and sound on the floor near the fridge.

Mind you, it did mean I’d been walking around with one earring all morning :o
