A parish that I am no longer attending recently had petitions on a table outside of the sanctuary after Mass. They were calling for optional celibacy for priests and were from FutureChurch.
If you’re not aware of this “Catholic” organization, you ought to make yourself aware of it. Among other things, it supports the ordination of women and has links to organizations (such as Dignity) which openly defy the Vatican and call for acceptance of gay marriage in the Church.
The parish even mentioned this organization in the bulletin that week. I was rather dismayed and am not attending there any more (for that and other reasons).
Should I bring this to the attention of the local bishops?
