Ever seen vestments like these?

I’m a Latin, with a great interest in and respect for Byzantine practices. My biggest interest in in liturgica, especially vestments.

I’ve seen this pattern (pictured below) used for a lot of Byzantine currently-used vestments, as well as in very old icons or paintings. I really like this pattern, and I think it would be very interesting to see fabrics with this pattern used in *Latin * vestments.

So, anyone seen Latin vestments using this pattern, or something similar? Would anyone besies me even want to see them?

They are very beautiful vestments but the Latin rite has it’s own customs and traditions that are just as beautiful and they shouldn’t be replaced. However, it would be fine to adorn the traditional Latin vestments with some of the colours and symbols of the East.

Very true.

If you look up traditional Latin-Rite bishop’s attire, it is every bit as grand as this.
 
I know all that. I’m very into liturgics, and in vestments particularily. I know all about what traditional Latin vestments look like and was not implying at all that our traditions should be “replaced.”

I just wanted to know if anyone had seen Latin vestments made with fabrics with the repeating greek cross.

The pattern is generally called “polystavros”.

It might be tricky to make a Western stole out of it, unless the pattern were smaller.
