Ever wonder why God would want you in Heaven

No one knows how many folks are in Heaven, or will eventually get there. BUT have you ever asked yourself, why would God want me (you in particular) there ???

There are billions of souls, probably already hundreds or thousands of saints or declared saints, and that is just from this one planet… IF there are many other planets in the universe as some suggest (and I think there nay be), there may be many billions more beings worthy of Heaven,

Why then would God want us (you or me in particular) in Heaven ? There are many folks more worthy than I, smarter, holier, healthier, more compassionate, , more humble, more appealing personality, more witty, more talented etc etc etc… Yes, I believe, I follow the rules and all that, but why me ??? Certainly God does not ‘need’ me there. IN the grand scheme of things, I am but one more being is a huge ocean of other beings… why does God even bother with me ??? I look around I see folks getting older like me… we look worn out, way past our prime… what does God see in us that makes Him want us to be with Him ???

There are so many others already and so many more waiting in the wings. Jesus tells us, to believe and follow Him, and we will be welcomed as adopted children…IF I were God, I would be a lot pickier of who I let in, only the best of the best…It’s Heaven after all, should we not be only getting the cream of the crop ??

Good things to ponder, especially in this “Age of Entitlement” in which most people simply assume they are going to Heaven.
 
You could turn that question around say “why God want me in Hell?”

Because God loves us. The same way, an earthly parents love their child.

But that gives God all the more reason to want you in Heaven! “I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance.” - Luke 15:7.

And plus all those humbler, holier etc. people still have one thing in common - sin! (Romans 3:23).

He doesn’t need anyone there. But He wants you there because He loves and created you to be there!

God doesn’t even want the worst person in the world to go to Hell (Ezekiel 33:11), so why would He want you there?

You are obviously an elitist but God is the infinitely loving Father who cares for **all **His children - even the sparrows - and is the Source of liberty, equality and fraternity. Jesus told us that whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did to me. That is true perfection…
 
Here a my simle guess trying to comprehend something I can not
God can gain nothing he is complete.
Yet becasue he is good would he not want the best for us, to give us special gifts.
resultantly if we are *open to him *he will give us gifts
So in some way he wants us in Heaven simply because he wants us to accept him and give us special gifts
 
I don’t wonder why God wants us in heaven, I am just glad He does.
 
Ref. the thread question, on one level my answer is a resounding, YES! But at a deeper level I know that at the core of God’s nature is an awesome LOVE that astounds even the Angels in Heaven - ergo sum, God loves me and powerfully wishes me [and you] to be with Him in the infinity of His Heaven. Amazing, indeed astonishing, but thank God I firmly believe this to be a most profound TRUTH. 👍
 
Yes,Very true what you say… I also have thought these things as well…
I Myself am just an unsophisticated , bumbling fool that has struggled through life …
But I think therein lies the answer !
Does God really need Millions of People that have never faulted ?
Does God really need people that have never done wrong ,and had nothing to learn because they have never made a mistake ?
I think God needs people that have Struggled with Life,Work,Sin etc…
because we will Appreciate The Grace of his light all the more…
And, I think maybe God has an Appreciation of those that have suffered in his name.
Which comes to what I think maybe what your Question Could be about…
Will God have a Purpose for us humble folk in Heaven ?
Will he have a few odd Jobs he needs done around the Place ?
Well maybe… Hopefully there will be a Forum just like this on the other side and we can
all chat about , why did we really need to be on earth in the first place ?

Heaven is our home. It is were we are from and it is the place were we truly live. We were made by Almighty God to dwell in his house and his house is the Truth of Heaven.

The same could be said for.

Why would God want you on earth?

Why did he create the universe?

Etcetera

So things like that will be revealed someday. For now we need not worry about such questions.
 
God wants everyone in heaven. Love wants to share Himself. He loves and wants everyone to be happy with Him forever. We only merit this through his grace. He wants everyone to enjoy the Beatific Vision forever.

However, because of free will, we can accept his invitation or reject Him. He invites us all. It is more about His goodness than ours.
 
Shoooot I’m still trying to figure out why God made me, much less why he wants me in heaven. At this point I’m just taking his word for it, that he made me, because he loves me…this will have to do until he is ready to explain it all to me in detail. I have a lot of question and I’m gonna be kind of upset if things aren’t cleared up, but in the meantime I patiently wait, because I trust in God’s love and plans.

Yes good thing He does not think like I do
I would never make the cut

When you look at the universe we are but mere specks, like a grain of sand on a vast end
less beach… How is it that we are worth God’s attention even for a nanosecond ? It just seems very presumptuous of us that we expect God to accept us warts and all.
 
He doesn’t necessarily want you-it’s just that His hands are tied legally if you die without a mortal sin on your soul.
