I have seen this qoute on several websites:

“Every Pope since the year 1280 A.D. has worn the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.”

Is this true? I know many Pope’s have spoken well of it and I know St. John Paul 2 wore it but it seems a big claim that all of them have worn it. Any thoughts or dependable sources on this claim?

I don’t know, but I would be surprised if it were false. Wearing the brown scapular is a pretty basic, highly recommended devotion.
