How do you refute the statement that it’s all about your personal relationship with God and since no relationships are the same then not everyone needs the same church (or any church at all).
Uhhh, even with the church there is “no authoritative source from which to find any way to God at all.”If there were no Church there would be no authoritative source from which to find any way to God at all.

If the church was an authoritative source, everyone would be Catholic.
You’re right! All relationships aren’t the same. How do you refute the statement that it’s all about your personal relationship with God and since no relationships are the same then not everyone needs the same church (or any church at all).
Quickest refutation would be, “Aren’t you glad that doctors don’t think that way?”How do you refute the statement that it’s all about your personal relationship with God and since no relationships are the same then not everyone needs the same church (or any church at all).
Not to pick on you, but you’ve echoed what I see all too often in this forum: the unfounded assertion that those who don’t belong to the Catholic church are somehow inferior in morals and spirituality. In my case, I simply don’t believe that some of the essential tenets of Catholicism are the truth. That does not I don’t try to become closer to God, to love my neighbor, and to conduct my life in the way I believe God wants me to.You’re right! All relationships aren’t the same.
Jesus instituted the Sacraments (and the church) through which God communicates His grace to us, to our souls.
“Personal relationship with God” can be a very convenient front so that I can do my own thing like, “why would I need to go to any church?” and other self-styled pseudo-religious practices or lack thereof.
“Personal relationship with God” is my way of saying that I don’t want to be bothered by the Sacraments or the church or religion or obligation or reverence or anything except my own “thing”.
There has to be an objective truth somewhere. The question to ask is which religious doctrine brings us closest to it?How do you refute the statement that it’s all about your personal relationship with God and since no relationships are the same then not everyone needs the same church (or any church at all).
As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
(1 Peter 4:10-11)Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
I tend to agree with this statement…Not to pick on you, but you’ve echoed what I see all too often in this forum: the unfounded assertion that those who don’t belong to the Catholic church are somehow inferior in morals and spirituality.
