So are there any minor league, cheap seat fans out there. Though I enjoy an the Giants Big Club in San Fran, I spend more time at The San Jose Giants.
Being that it’s a minimum of a four hour drive to the closest MLB ballpark for me, that’s the only way I get to see baseball in person. We’ve got a single A Marlins affiliate here in town that I go to see on a fairly regular basis.

(And yes, even with a four hour drive, I’m still blacked out for home games. Thanks, MLB!)

Yes, many of the SF Giants who won the World Series came up through San Jose. There is such a closer feel to minor leage, We have a graet BBQ. And Saturdays kids get to run the bases.

My boys in blue (Royals) are 12-6 since snapping their 12 game losing streak :cool:If not for that losing streak, the Royals could very well be in 1st place in a bad, bad, bad division

I have a feeling the Tigers will take off once June starts. My Twins are doing awful. Same with the Brewers. Unfortunately they are playing each other now. 😛

And that concludes a winning month of May for the Royals and going 5-4 on a 9 game swing through NY, Baltimore, and Cleveland. Not bad considering the 12 game slide to start the season.

Nice.

In other news: The Twins are still a terrible excuse for a Major League Baseball team.

I’ve always been fascinated by the fans of bad teams. One month, you win a series against the yanks, and you are not dead last for now.
It is said that baseball season is too long. But for KC fans, It ends on october 3rd guaranteed.
Cmon man! Demand better from your owner. put a product on the field!

Royals offense & defense is loaded with potential super stars (Hosmer, Gordan, Moose, Butler, Escobar, etc.), it’s pitching that’s horrible. Why GM Dayton Moore didn’t upgrade the pitching during last winter’s hot stove league is baffling to all Royals fans. That said, there are some quality young arms on the farm that are developing and should be moving up to KC over the next couple of years.

I’m 38 and have been a life long Royals fan. I would’ve been 12 in 1985 when KC won the World Series, I don’t remember what I did, but it had to have been something bad to be grounded to my room and missed Game 7 of the 85 World Series

Wow, game seven> 12 years old. I cant even imagine a crime that big.

I’m a St. Louisan who was going to college in KC in '85. To watch my beloved Cards lose to the Royals while in KC was traumatizing. Of course, had we won, I never would have rubbed it in to those Royal fans around me. 😃 Just mention Don Denkinger to a Cardinal fan and our hearts sigh.

My AL only fantasy baseball team includes Billy Butler, Alcides Escobar, Luke Hochevar and Felipe Paulino (who I’ll drop if he doesn’t get his rotation spot back).

So I’ll be rooting for a good Royals season…😃
Father, I hope you didn’t drop Paulino:

kansascity.com/2012/06/05/3644198/royals-beat-twins-1-0.html
This beat-up and much-savaged rotation of the Royals produced its third shutout in five games Tuesday night when Bruce Chen and two relievers combined for a 1-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins at Kauffman Stadium.
Looking for a reason?
Chen cites Felipe Paulino, who enters tonight’s series finale at 3-1 with a 1.70 ERA in six starts since returning from the disabled list.
“That has been huge addition for us,” Chen said. “It injected some energy into our pitching staff. He has been pitching very well for us, and pitching is contagious.

Yikes, no posts in this thread since June?

The postseason puzzle is falling into place … Nationals clinched their division tonight despite losing, Tigers are about to clinch theirs, Reds and Giants are already in. Yankees and Orioles are in a dogfight for the AL East.

The Twins have hurt me to the point where talking about them breaks my heart…

Also, their bid for the playoffs was shot in June lol.

I will be pulling for the Giants in the playoffs. They are the reason I love the NL.

Not much to talk about for me as my Royals have been since opening day 😦

Besides, it’s football season 😃

I’ve always been more of a baseball fan than a football fan.

And, as I mentioned last night, both the Tigers and Nationals clinched their divisions. Those are my two favorite teams and they clinched on the same day! First time this has EVER happened for me! 😃 (Well, actually this is the first time that the Expos/Nationals have made the playoffs since I started following them way back in '82!) I wonder what the odds are for them to meet in the World Series…

I always find it funny how teams like the royals even have fans. But you see, hope spings eternal at the start of each spring. But it is false hope. People were saying on this thread that the Royals had a good team. Not much to post after that statement. But you can bet that someone will think that next spring.🤷 This is our year!!!
For royals, and mariner fans the season is over one month in. And that is why nobody cares in the fall. What could a royals fan even say now? gee I sure hope we go 500 in our last two games? 😃
Besides, it’s football season 😃
AMEN!!! Too bad the Chiefs are a mirror image of the Royals…
When will fans demand better?

Go Broncos, Go Yankees!!!

That is just anti american…

I am rooting for the nats to do well, but I fear they made a HUGE mistake and frankly, I dont understand it.

I guess I’m cheering for the O’s. But in all honesty all of the team in the playoffs stink.

Man, I know how you feel. My Phillies…aaarrrrrggghhh! And, as for football, I haven’t watched the Eagles since Vick came on board. (I’m sure everyone knows why.)
