Funny thing–I just heard on the radio about this site, egraphs, where you can get a digitally signed picture of your favorite player (if they’re on the list), and they’ll even record a voice message for you that goes w/ the e-signed picture (you can also, for an additional cost, get the picture as a framed print). Well, as it happens, my favorite player (current roster) is Descalso who is in very fine company as some of favorites from the past include Ozzie and Willie McGee. And he was one of the ones who had egraphs available. So I’m getting one! My kids are teasing me, but the hardest part was squishing my note to him to 140 characters!
Well, I kept telling my children how much watching Descalso field reminded me of Ozzie back in the day.
Well–take a look at Descalso (particularly “Leaps and Bounds” and “Full Extension”) and compare Ozzie (“Airborne!” and “The Dive”).

They did a moment of silence at the stadium for him. I just lost my Dad this June to Parkinson’s dementia, so I have some insight as to what Joe has been through. I can’t imagine going out there and managing a playoff series, but perhaps that’s the best way to cope with it.Really sad news about Girardi losing his dad last night.
