I don’t know if any of you have read this document, but I think it is something everyone should see. No matter what denomination you are. Please read the entire document before assuming anything about anyone or this thread.

This has to do with Protestants, SDA protestants and Catholics.

So again, please take the time to read it before jumping to any conclusions.

I know some of you will give me feedback whether I ask or not…lol

But please read the document.

Why should anyone check out a link you provide when you won’t check out references given to you?

Why keep starting threads that you are obviously going to abandon?

All of those links, I have saved. And yes, I read them.

Let’s try to stay on topic this time.

Back to the link.

I’m sorry, but I won’t be participating in your ‘agenda’. You’ve started a lot of threads and attempted to control them through your own self-imposed rules. You’ve accused us of not using scriptures, while accusing me of using scriptures to make you look wrong on another thread.

Now, you’re resorting to finding anything on the web you can ‘twist’ to make the Church look bad? Better read the rules of the forum and what it has to say about ‘agendas’…:onpatrol:

Actually, I have given you the link to the following document several times. amazon.com/Catechism-Catholic-Church-U-S/dp/0385479670
It is clear that you have not gotten it nor read it by your misunderstandings of Catholic Teachings. I’ll make you a deal, you get my document and read it, let me know what you think, and then, if I’l convinced that you actually got it and read it, then I’ll have a look at yours. How 'bout that?

All of your questions about the Sabbath vs Sunday are answered here: catholic.com/library/Sabbath_or_Sunday.asp.
Why don’t stop slinging links and start actually engaging in conversation and answering the questions and challenges for proof others and I have asked. I’m pretty much at the end of my tolerance for your particular brand of one sided contention and polemics.

Do you mean like these?
  1. Do not view the discussion area as a vehicle for single-mindedly promoting an agenda.
  2. Non-Catholics are welcome to participate but must be respectful of the faith of the Catholics participating on the board.
Obviously the OP doesn’t understand how discussion on a forum works.

Too bad he doesn’t understand that he doesn’t get to set the parameters.

You’ve already read the books missing from your Bible, and the Early Chuch Fathers?

Sure, OK, it’s your story, you tell it any way you want to. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The last time I opened a link on this site, it appeared to try to download a virus, so, no, I’m not clicking on that link.

I wouldn’t worry about it, I’m not checking the link out either.

I’m sure we aren’t missing anything.

I do think it is kind of funny though that you have a link in your signature. ;)😛

That’s been there for I don’t know how long. A few years. It’s there only to use as the citation for the quote given in my signature. I don’t even know if it works anymore to tell you the truth.

Oh Lordy, the old “which is the true Holy Sabbath Day” dispute.

Here’s your answer: Every day you draw breath is holy. Treat it as such.

And what a waste of a holy day to argue over such piffle.

Miz

It’s all good, I just found it amusing, considering what we were talking about.

I’m not sure, but I think I may need to get out more. 🤷

It’s not a virus. Also, I could copy and paste what it says if you want. Just know that it is long, that’s why I put the link.

It’s not a dispute on my behalf. I just want everyone to read it.

read your link. and im soo old this is not the first time i have read some of this liturature. lets face it. your an adventist. you are having more problems admitting this than an achohloic does at an aa meeting. are you embarrased by the name sda? i dont see why. i think ellen g. white wrote many good things. even tho i believe she suffered from partial complex seizure disorder from a rock to the face as a child. from now on i shall discuss with you as if you are a seventh day adventist, until you provide me with the denomination you are from. glad we have that settled. know from which way you are coming from.:Dpeace be to you.

And you this how? I guess we’ve met and I told you personally…lol

I’m not an adventist, but I must admit that their beliefs go along with the Bible and many catholic beliefs don’t.

I’ve noticed something. Many of you say your other “books” go along with the Bible. Okay well when it doesn’t, you claim that you have the authority to change it. But doesn’t your claim go against the Bible itself. You know why, because God said his Law does not change. If God has stated that His Law does not change, then why would He give your church the authority to do so and not state this in the Bible? That is confusion and God is not the author of confusion. That is written in the Bible.

If your church is the TRUE church, shouldn’t you follow the Word given to you by God and not add ons?

Also, you are a spiritual Jew, therefore, you are to follow the Laws that God gave them. Sooooo…lets start. Old and New Testament.

Now back to the document.

heres my whole problem with the sabbath question. the seventh day adventist, seventh day baptist etc. claim they celebrate the true sabbath. nothing could be further from the truth. if they did celebrate the true sabbath they would: look for the 3rd star to come out friday evening, the wife would then light the sabbath candles and recite the blessings. also in many synagouges the main service is on friday evening to welcome the sabbath. and they would use the proper prayer book. which are facinating i might add. very close to the Catholic liturgy. the true sabbath goes from sundown friday to sundown saturday, and only the Jewish people hold to it properly. theirs is not a protestant invention. it was given to them by the Creator to be celebrated by Them as his Chosen people. if people are going to celebrate the true sabbath fine and good. then they should do it in accordance with the law and the rabbinic sages and stop pretending.until the adventist start practicing it correctly, they should lay off the Catholic Church for transfering it to sunday.sorry just had to get this off my chest.

I agree with you. If ANYONE should keep the Sabbath in the Bible, then yes it should be done correctly.

again every word proceeding out of your fingertips is sda. i have friends that are sda. at least they can admit it. we may disagree on doctrine, but they and i are honest where we stand. also what do you know of the law, except bits and pieces? do you know what to do if you cannot get wine for a high festival? or what to do i you suspect you wife is cheating on you? we are supposed to follow the law correct? shall we stone people for being gluttons since they are an “abomination?” what part of the law would you like to discuss. im sure some of our Jewish brothers and sisters would love to comment here. and i for one would love to see them completely out manuever you. peace.
