Personally, I probably wouldn’t be that comfortable as a visitor in this parish.

But what they are doing has been approved by the archbishop there, who happens to be an appointment of John Paul II.

I just don’t think its worthy of that much slamming, considering the imprimaturs they have for the liturgy at St. Joan’s.

For any Catholic who is aware of even half of the authentic teachings of the Church, I highly doubt his or her Sunday obligation would be fulfilled by attending Mass there, considering if in fact their “liturgies” are valid.

Though on the books in the St. Paul chancery SJA may be a parish in good standing, they are most definitely in practical and material schism from the Magisterium.

Quite simply St. Joan’s is a CINO (Catholic In Name Only) dissent factory, its just that the good archbishop has not the guts to tell them to either reform (and radically) or be thrown out.

But they are objectively in good standing by Abp. Flynn and the Magisterium. They aren’t involved in a secret heresy, they’ve been above board for more than 30 years in what they’ve done.

The property of parishes is owned directly by the dioceses, there wouldn’t be a problem in removing anyone from the diocesan owned property, for a bishop or a pope.

If they had a mind to.

Maybe according to Abp. Flynn’s Magisterium they are in good standing, and thank God he is not the pope. Anyhow this parish has been in trouble with the Vatican, but they left any serious decisions up to Flynn’s discretion, which of course he has yet to make.

I have just read their Parish bulletin and found the following two messages!

GLBT Pride Week Prayer Service: All are welcome to participate in a service of prayer and music in celebration of our GLBT community Wednesday June 22, 7 pm in the Church.

GLBT Pride Parade: Join other St. Joan’s marchers in the Twin Cities Pride Parade Sunday, June 26. Come after the 9 am Mass and join in the fun and a show of solidarity. Look for further details next week. FFI, to RSVP or to add your creative talents for poster ideas call Laura at 952.898.3333.

May God forgive them. Imagine inviting all toa Gay Pride march after 9am Mass???/ What the heck???

And of course how could overlook the following…
Healing Circle: The Body/Mind/Spirit Ministry at SJA invites you to experience healing energy using such methods as Reiki or Healing Touch. It will be held Tuesday, June 21, 7 pm in the Church. There is opportunity for both group and individual work. FFI call Kate at 651.644.9433.

Oh phooey…

One thing needs to be stressed they are having this ‘circus’ in a gym halland not in the Church. Hence the data projection and general chat before and after Mass. The Blessed Sacrament is not reposing there. We should be grateful for little mercies I suppose. The Mass is the Church seems to be a far more reverend affair from what I can see in their Parish Bulletin with only 2 as opposed to 6 EM’sHC and so slide show. Now I wonder if they are experimenting with the possible creation of a new type of community??? It is not happening on consecrated ground. I know it still doesn’t make it right but at least they have the knowledge to realise that the Church is too sacred a place for their performances.

So sad that the Holy Mass has to be taken out of its proper place of celebration and abused in such a fashion so that all can maintain their feel good factor.
**5 pm Saturday Mass - Church **
Presider: Fr. George Wertin
Hosts/Cup Ministers: Joyce Smith and Bill Stewart
Reader: Gerry Sell

Sunday Gym Liturgies
9 am Mass - GYM
Presider:
Fr. Jim Cassidy
**Hosts: **Mary Ahler, Barbara Bittner, Mary Jo McMahon
**Slide Projectionist: **Joan Riebel
**Reader: **Eden Bodnar
**Eucharistic Ministers:**Marty and Bruce Danielson, Marjorie Spagl,
Marlys Weber, Virginia and Bill Wilner

Notice they call it a Mass in the Church and a Liturgy in the Gym??? God will question all this don’t worry.

Not only in this case, but in general—why DON’T bishops step forward and call a spade a spade in this kind of situation? We’ve all seen it happen in many places where this kind of thing goes on and the bishop sits on his hands. Why?

I have seen how certain people sit until they are forced to do something and then something like this is likely to happen.

I’m just speechless. Those two websites make my complaints about the a’strummin and a’swayin crowd down here pale by comparison. What a shocker for a Sunday afternoon.

Does anyone else find it ironic that a parish named after a warrior Saint has done this?
It is a bit odd isn’t it? lol Saint Joan must be furious.

Woah… I see some of these seeds germinating right within my own beloved Parish. We would be on step two I would say.

This should be renamed the pathway to destruction. Or “Destruction of the Roman Catholic Parish for Dummies”"

Can you see the seeds of Spiritus Christi in your Parish??

I can’t believe my eyes. That is not a Roman Catholic church, no matter how much they may want it to be. “Earth Stewardship”? “Rainbow Bridge”? (the blessings of civil unions  ) and going across the street to the protestant church to worship? And of course the “reverend” Mary whoever she is. Ugh. smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_3_13.gif
This is in the diocese practically next door to my own. Is this approved or are they like “in schism”? I can’t believe a responsible Bishop would allow that stuff to go on…

Go back to the website and read their history. They are a schism. They festered for years with one priest. Finally after a decade or more of abuses nearly the whole bunch of them broke from the Church. This was very scary to watch unfold.

Oh, ok. Read the history part. Wow. That is scary. And sad. 😦

I sent them an e-mail message asking for the schedule for Eucharistic Adoration. Do you think they have Eucharistic Adoration?

Well done Micki! An excellent way to prod the conscience without being confrontational. Excellent! 👍

Progressives gone mad.
But they claim to be in the spirit of V2.

I have been watching this parish a long time now. You are missing the gay and lesbian page on the site. Look. :bigyikes:

I mean you are missing but not.
I read it------I wish I hadn’t:bigyikes:

Are you the same guy mentioned here in post 11?

I agree…I think this is a total abomination…The basketball goal is a really nice addition to the altar too  This Church and others like it are a cancer and they need to be operated on by The Holy See…we need to end the age of the Pizza Hut Churches and return to the gothic beauty of the old Churches and Cathedrals we grew up in…We also need for Catholics to dress and act appropriately during Mass…
Scotty PGH:
Comment is hardly necessary:

stjoan.com/features/featurefr.htm

Can you believe “the band” and the parishioners come to Church dressed like that?

“The parish encourages babies and infants to participate in nursery programs. Babies who are not quite as well mannered as this one can cause disruptions as well as stress for their parents.”

Where are the kneelers? Stupid question.

Nothing like having a rockin’ band strumming away while I dance up to get my Communion from the “Eucharistic minister.”

Note that some people like to characterize the TLM crowd as being over the hill and out of date. As anyone with TLM experience knows, the exact opposite is true. In fact, as these pictures show, parishes like this are the ones stocked with old fogies.

Their website says “St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church”…all you have to do is read and you will realize that unfortuneatly, it is a Catholic Church.

Are we sure that its Catholic? Here’s the “mission statement”:Enough said. Kinda speaks for itself.
