  1. Evidence against Design consists of the negative aspects of reality.
  2. The most significant negative aspect of reality is evil.
  3. Physical evil is negative because it harms or destroys living beings and their habitat.

  6. Moral evil is negative because it interferes with personal development and fulfilment.

  8. Moral evil presupposes free will. (Kant: “Ought implies can”.)
  9. Free will presupposes the power of reason.
  10. Free will also presupposes the power to be unreasonable.

  2. Human beings are responsible for much needless poverty and injustice.
  3. Individuals are not responsible for all the suffering, death, poverty and injustice.
  4. Ignorance is the cause of much suffering, death, poverty and injustice.
  5. Ignorance is an inevitable consequence of human limitations.
  6. Collective guilt does not imply individual guilt.
  7. Collective guilt is an inevitable consequence of social and economic factors.
