Barbarian observes:
Yes, if it had been about Genesis, it would have been titled “The Origin of Life.”
The study of the origin of species is the study of the origin of living creatures.
No. In fact, Darwin made no claims about they way living things originated. He merely said that God did it.
According to Darwin. And now you understand why evolution is not about Genesis.
Barbarian observes:
Sounds like someone’s trying to conflate beginnings of species with the book of Genesis.
The Book of Genesis relates the beginnings of living creatures. And the theory of evolution attempts to describe the same.
No. Here’s what Darwin actually said about it.
There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being evolved.
Charles Darwin,
The Origin of Species 1872
As you see, they’ve lied to you about that. The way to freedom is to learn the truth. Once you find out for yourself, you are no longer theirs.
No getting around that fact. The theory of evolution is a theory of genetic history, and a world-view that denies Creation.
Now you know better.
Barbarian observes:
No one has seen a giant redwood grow up from a seedling, either.
Not too many people would doubt it,either.
Not too many people who understand evolution doubt it either. For the same reasons.
Barbarian observes:
The creationist/ID shuffle: “let’s define evolution as the amount that takes too long for anyone to directly observe, and then demand that scientist show that someone has directly observed it.”
The funny part is, they actually believe that people are fooled by such things.
The evolutionist shuffle: let’s extrapolate a theory of macro-evolution from observed instances of micro-evolution.
That’s what Darwin did; he saw variation and the evidence for macroevolution and predicted that new species evolve from existing ones. And direct observation has confirmed his prediction. New species do indeed arise from existing ones.
Barbarian observes:
Speciation is rarely by hybridization. You’ve been misled about that.
I never said that speciation is commonly by hybridization anyway. Humans certainly didn’t develop from weak, malformed, sterile hybrids, and speciation has never been seen to lead to total genetic isolation,
The first such example was in 1904, the speciation of O. gigas from O. lamarckiana.
Learn the truth. It matters.
