Evidence for the Assumption

I accept the Assumption. However, a Protestant friend of mine does not. He has asked what the Church uses as ‘evidence’ for the doctrine. I’m a bit stumped. Any help is much appreciated!
if an aithiest asks me for proof on the existience of God i tell him I need no proof.
if a believer in Jesus that i am not in fellowship with in my church asks me for proof in my beliefs i give him Scriputure, but still even though we may both accept the Same Jesus I still know that the burden to provide the “proof” is not always my burden so sometimes i tell myself the scriptures i know to comfort me that even if i have the answer, sometimes just like Jesus knows what it was like to not be listened to, through Himself, or the Prophets, sometimes without divine intervention like answered pray, the answer is still that I need no proof to have faith, even if they are not an athiest. even if they love Jesus, they might not recognize my love for Him enough to know what i answer, i might have to pray for them before they can accept it. personally i can not accept not getting married to my man this june unless death prevents us both from our intentions and i am forced to, but there are still people who can accept not getting married and doing something else for God, sometimes me and them might get things in the way that could help us understand each other with grace, but it doesnt mean that i can change that i want to serve God by marrying my fiance and why i cant understand for myself how Jesus is the example of husband without knowing first my man is my husband what Jesus means by that no matter how much scripture you give me. sometimes its not just an answer for athiest sometimes its an answer for anyone we cant answer because they wont hear us right now.

Mary had a unique role in human history, the mother of God. That is what makes her the new ark of the convenant. She was born with special graces for that role. This is not to say that others have not achieved high levels of holiness - they have. But not even the most devout Saint was born without original sin like Mary

Although you might not fully appreciate this, baptism is very significant. By being baptized, you were freed of original sin, given the necessary graces to go to heaven and made a part of the one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. We believe you can only be baptized once for the forgiveness of sins. Baptism, at its most basic level, is a covenant agreement. God agrees to make you a member of his church, provides his grace and forgives your sins but to gain all that you need to follow his will for you or you will fall from grace. Perhaps the next stage in his will for you is what brought you to this website in the first place

This is exactly what you should be doing. God knows what is best for you Grandfather so put your faith in his hands.

Life is a journey toward or away from God. We all ultimately have the choice of heaven or hell. If we serve God and our neighbors in life, we will go to heaven, where we will be with people who do the same. If we serve only ourselves, we will be condemned to live in Hell with all the others self-centered souls.

my mother is not a self centered soul, she labors for others and she may not understand things she was taught as a child or remember them but even after she doesnt attend catholic church she is the one who asked me to accept Jesus Christ as person Lord and Savior at five years old, even though i am not joined a church, my mother is not going to hell, i seen her before the book of life rejoicing by my side, that she [prayed for my soul before i was born, that she prayed my sister to accept Jesus and while she was pregnant was prophesized to by a catholic priest apponn attending a mass after praying for her, that my sister would be ok, see back then my dad used to beat my mother. my mother judged her marrriage and whether or not it was right to get a divorce based still by what she was taught, and was a victem of my dad before he got saved and it wasnt til i was tewnty two or twenty one that she divorced him, and did not leave him til she knew and had evidence on his extra marrital affairs that after she confronted him that she had hired a priv. investigater and knew he had been cheating that he confessed to her he had been cheating all the whole marriage and before. so if it werent for my mother i nor my sisbling would know salvation. and if you know that Mary suffered for this church you would not assume my mother would be going to hell or is a selfish person. because i am way more selfish than my mother ever was and i have at times been hospitalized over five times a year, and my mother always brought Jesus to me where ever i have been. and i have been closer to the gates of hell than anyone in my whole family and prevailed in Jesus though i am not abusive or evil, though in Jesus’s baptism mine was made valid once and for all, I have been more in danger of judgement than any my family and my whole family is getting salvation, including me. so preach more about Jesus and his redeeming Grace, more about Mary and her service to god and the church, but if you want to preach about hell, tell it someone else. because as close as i have been to it. i dont know as much about it and niether does my blood as much as this world who so many times tried to crucify my mother for her selfishness, tried to call her names you dont call the church, and she through it all, though she doesnt know as much as you kept me from hell fires and kept me protected like Mary does when we are ignorant. so tell somebody else about hell, im interested in faith. and my mother planted the seed and took care of it and if anybody has something bad to say about my family they better take it up with my heavenly father because i am not listening!

Let’s be clear here. While many Catholics are devoted to Mary, we don’t see her as equal to God. When we pray to Mary, we ask for her intercession with God, just like we do the other Saints. And yes, Mary has brought millions to her Son. Have you read about her work at Gaudalupe, Lourdes and Fatima? They are hugely inspirational.

How about the lack of evidence? There are no first class relics of the Theotokos. I’m pretty sure the early Christians would have kept those first class relics of the Mother of God if there were any (although pieces of her hair could have been kept and would definitely be first class relics as well).
scientific detail in error or not considered, hair from the decade of Christ often contains 0% to 0.00001% of any traceable dna. you would in fact need a bone from her child and his mother, bone still is a risk, seeing Christ rose from the dead and other facts, i dont think dna would help you, i found a verse in the bible the other day, cant remember where it was def, new testiment. sure you will look to find it or some one else will find it, it helped me with my hurts from the churches not catholic, i paraphrase} if indeed you are Christ’s then you will see that we also are Christ’s, could you then if you know there be scripture like that tell me and be kind i am a bit emotional, let me know then why if an athiest persecutes you demanding facts, laughing at you, could you demand facts of any other of the faithful, knowing that God did not hold you indebt when the athiest said you cant proove it, and behold, to him you could not, what if you consider this cenerio does a person do next if he’s in your shoes? what would jesus do?

i was very hurt by the implication that my mother could be in hell someday, i tried to react in my faith and am sure i did, but perhaps i should have acted in silence because though i’m sure people will pray for me and my annomous family i am not ashamed what we been through but i seen where people reply to neglectful posts and it doesnt get you an appology or any understanding and oh yeah i accidendtly cant fix the fact i wrote god instead of God. well i am not paying attention to this thread anymore if i can help it trust me i’ll do well to try. and also i cant start a new thread? why i can find a thread that has how to identify a saint, where i could discribe one and ask who it is. everything comes up on search is off topic as this is. sorry i got so emotional but i dont appreciate the people in my family that have salvation bieng talked about the way you did. and you put your quote in the wrong place about it too. that was missleading, mom does believe Mary is in Heaven.

Guestseeking,
Re-read what I wrote. I never said or implied anything about your Mother. I didn’t judge your mother, nor should you. God, who reads hearts with perfect accuracy, will judge her appropriately, Trust in that. Within the Catholic Church there is always forgiveness and salvation for those that are willing to ask for it sacramentally. And I am praying for you and your family. I know you are struggling, as we all are.
