Evidence of demonic possession?

Ok I’m sorry if this is a weird post but I couldn’t find an answer. Why is there no video evidence or atheistic evaluation published of demonic possession? Why does it seem as if there was real magic in the Old Testament and now we don’t even see evidence of possession? Am I missing something obvious? Is it odd only priests seem to vouch for it and there is no other evidence?
 
You do know that as part of evaluating someone for an exorcism, a psychologist examines the person to see if it’s a mental disorder first, yes?
 
Better question would be why are so many Catholics reluctant to acknowledge the existence of satan and his fallen angels, as well as the spiritual warfare we face day in and day out for our soul?
 
Did not know that I was looking for reports but couldn’t find any. I’m glad that’s where they start I imagine many of the cases are simply mental illness. I just wish I knew it existed for sure as if the devil exists God certainly exists. Maybe it’s something we just aren’t supposed to know. I hope you are having an amazing night! I can take a crack this! As an agnostic person trying to believe. There is no empirical evidence of anything. There’s no concrete proof of Gods existence, no concrete evidence of a soul, no concrete evidence of the devils existence. It’s all supposed to be based on faith and I guess logical deduction and for a generation raised on empiricism and scientism it seems the super natural does not exist.
 
But why is everything super natural unobservable. Why wouldn’t they record a video to prove to everyone that there is something to be scared by wouldn’t it be a great sign to bring people to faith?

Well first off, by nature, the spiritual/ metaphysical realities are not able to be measured by science…the soul, the spirit, spiritual creatures (angels and demons)- are not beings tied to matter and transcend our physical reality.

When I was younger, I used to be unhealthily interested in this subject matter (demons, exorcism, etc.)…and I would respectfully have to disagree. I think there is a lot of documented, reliable evidence that demonic infestation, oppression, and possession are very real.

To back up a bit, if you believe that satan and fallen angels exist, why is it such a leap to believe that they can interact with us in our world? In fact, their sole purpose is to ruin as many human souls as they can before their time is up…so I’m not quite tracking how you can believe in their existence but doubt their ability to spiritually attack us.

Agreed, and I don’t think you really want to know. While some knowledge of the demonic is useful, too much can be seductive to draw you in for more.

Think of it kind of like HIPAA, if you’re in the US- people don’t want their moments of greatest spiritual vulnerability on camera like that.
 
No no not me personally I’m honestly just trying to look for God likely in the wrong places I thought possessions would be a very evident truth of the super natural because I personally am stuck in the stage of non belief. I will admit there could be a higher power and some of the proofs are convincing me I get as many answers from God as I have from any other supernatural entity and I’m stuck not seeing any evidence of the super natural. That’s why I’m trying to investigate all this. Maybe I need to give it a break and keep praying but I keep reading threads of people that never find God.

That’s me I’m stuck believing in the potential for a higher power but truly stuck believing the super natural doesn’t exist. I’m trying to change that though! You are an awesome person for continuing to respond and for other threads you’ve helped me on thank you so much.
 
Maybe I need to stop trying to figure out the super natural intellectually. Maybe that’s my issue is assuming I can figure any of this out and it doesn’t work like that.
