Evil inhabiting a physical space

I was at the abortion clinic yesterday morning during 40 Days for Life. I was there at 6 am. There was virtually nobody on the street. I viewed my purpose was to invoke the Holy Spirit to come to that place. It seems to me that demons inhabit physical spaces. Am I right? I think that since angels are present around us on a physical plane, demons would be around us too, especially in a place of killing.

Are there Scripture verses that back this up? I know that this is an orthodox belief from a Catholic pov, but I’m writing something for a non-denominational audience.
 
No created being, even the Most Holy Theotokos, is omnipresent or ubiquitous–that is, can be everywhere at once.

So demons–or angels–can’t be everywhere at once. As far as I know, they can be in only one place at a time.

St. Padre Pio and other saints have reportedly bilocated on several occasions. But there are many, many angels and demons, more than there are humans. But they aren’t omnipresent or omnipotent.

I’m sure there are demons at abortion mills. The Rockford abortion mill? I’m sure there are demons there. Thanks to the Catholic League, I understand their blasphemous signs have been removed.
 
Thank you for caring enough to be there standing for the rights of life! I think others answered the question- I just wanted to say I pray for people like you who do go to these places and stand for life and truth.

Yes - I’ve heard that about Padre Pio. I’ve also heard that angels can bilocate. I doubt there are that many demons at an abortion mill, because satan is already in control there.

I once heard a story where a saint had a vision of a bad town with a couple of demons flying around it. Then he had a vision of a town full of good people, with a thousand demons outside - looking, waiting for an opening.

The more holy you are, the more under attack you will be. St John Vianney had numerous attacks from satan.

I like the story of a saint (don’t remember which one) that heard a noise while sleeping, turned over and saw satan. She then muttered - “Oh, it’s only you.” Then rolled back over and went to sleep.

Oh to have such faith!

You are exactly correct here. Back when I was a Protestant I would often hear people telling each other, “Satan was sure after me yesterday, all day” and the other would reply “He was after me too.”

I remember thinking, he couldn’t have been after you both at the same time unless you were both in the same place.

Only God is omnipresent.

Countless angels and demons exist on the head of a pin. They are everywhere.

Satan does not need to be at an abortion clinic because there are already people there who freely choose to do what they do. I have never cared for “the devil made me do it” excuse because it tries to let one off the hook for something that they freely choose to do. There is no way that anyone can tell me that a person who works at an abortion clinic doesn’t fully know what it is they are doing…they don’t need satan twisting their arm.

While it is true only God is omnipresent, that does not mean that the Devil is not big enough to have his hands in a great many places and things at once, both either in person or through his servants.

Angelic beings are not like us, they are quite different and have different capacities and abilities.

The dark are there because it brings them pleasure. Also to be sure the mothers finish the deed.

i take it as a sort of expression. What people most likely mean when they say that is one of satan’s minions was after me, not satan himself. satan himself does appear in one form or another to actual people in a specific time and place, but most likely it is one of his minions.

But, remember, there are 3 enemies; only one of which is satan (who controls his minions). The other two are the flesh and the world. So when you are feeling temptation it could be coming not from satan or one of his minions, but from your own flesh or from the world.

It is true that extraordinarily, some saints have been gifted with bilocation.

I would not even hazard a guess as to how the “technology” of bilocation would work.

But I really doubt that God would give demons this gift, and angels (so far as I can tell) don’t really need it.
 
Some years ago, some scientists did an experience proving that a particle can be in two places at once.

Quantum physics is way above my pay grade. 🙂
