Greetings guys!!
Code:
Let me interrupt you with this one, lately while I'm busy searching through the internet regarding St. Constantine's controversy. I see a website contains some of the leaders of the our Church including popes stating them as the most evil in a certain century. I think this website wants to portray of some kind of a whistle blower to the faithfuls. Though they didn't state the enormous hatred to the church, it seems too clear. What makes me more shocked is that, they considered the popes are being married secretly and have an offspring.

If you believe any of this and other sites of this ilk, I have a very large bridge going to Brooklyn, NY for sale!

St Michael the archangel, defend us in the day of Battle; Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke Him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls.

It’s weird that Hitler and Stalin were both Catholics. Wow…

Well, it would be weird, except that approximately 16-20% of the world is Catholic, and crazy insane people are pretty evenly distributed by birth. Although I don’t actually know if these two loons were ever Catholic, you would expect roughly 16-20% of dangerously insane people to be born to Catholic families and probably baptized in modern(ish) times. Now, if you restrict yourself to crazies in the Christian world, that percentage would climb to about 50%.

Now, that they were both lapsed Catholics, that might tell you something. After all, one of the first thing you have to do if you’re going to go on an extermination campaign is decide that the Catholic Church is wrong. Or, I suppose not, if you’re insane and don’t realize that a thing can’t be both true and false at the same time.

(Come to think of it, that may make sense - politicians always seemed to me to be less sane then others as a group, and a higher percentage of politicians demonstrate their insanity by being pro-choice and Catholic at the same time then among the normal population. One of these days I’ll have to run the numbers on that, see if I can’t find a correlation.)

The site didn’t completely considered anti Catholicism, they includes also other evil people outside the RC too.

Good point.

I think that many practicing Catholics have supported genocide/extermination. They were just wrong in doing so and not in touch with Jesus’ message. So I would not blame Jesus/Catholicism for that, necessarily. It does make me wonder what is going on within Catholic households to create these monsters though.

Well yeah. If you want to have power over others, then there was probably something wrong with you well before you desired that power… that power-seeking is a symptom of problems in your childhood. So that explains a lot about politicians, doesn’t it?

Don’t know about Hitler. Stalin went to seminary, he didn’t make it. When he took over, he killed as many clergy as possible and banned religion. (Among a rather large number of others he killed and things he banned.)

And your point is…? That site calls people evil and gives no reason for that (Pope Leo XIII), and has spurious, made-up information. It is just a ridiculous and stupid site which wants to undermine people’s faith by lying.

Yeah it seems to imply that Stalin was a Priest, for example. He never became a Priest though did he?

Yes! So why go there. The poster might not have mixed the poison, but he offered the cup.
God be with you

Stalin a Catholic?! Your ignorance is showing (and desire to paint Catholicism in the worst possible light?)

And really, how many times did Hitler go to Mass from 1939-1945? How many times did he go to confession?

You should be ashamed.

Although Stalin was raised Georgian Orthodox (not Catholic) he was an atheist.

Me?

Just because someone is anti-Catholic doesn’t make them wrong about everything. There were, indeed, evil Popes (Alexander-6 was perhaps the worst). There was a period known as the Saeculum obscurum (the pornocracy, or reign of harlots) - a shameful 60 year period which spanned the reigns of fourteen blatantly sinful Popes.

As Catholics, we should never try to gloss over this shame. Indeed, in a strange way, we can use it in our favor. You had fourteen Popes who were whore-mongers and murderers. Their behavior was evil, but NOT ONCE did any of these Popes try to justify himself by codifying his behavior in Catholic Doctrine. Every one was completely orthodox in his teaching, despite their deep personal flaws.

This type of hypocrisy is nothing new. It was around in the time of Jesus. And Jesus taught us to respect legitimate authority, even when those in authority were unworthy of it:
The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat [we would say Peter’s seat]. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. [Matt 23:2-3]

Geez. There are a lot of misinformed and misguided people out there. We know the truth about Church history. It is unfortunate that some outside the church will buy into these statements without conducting the necessary research to verify the info. This is why it is so important that we live what we believe and be prepared to answer questions for those who ask.
