Hello All

I have been thinking about this for a while, and I needed some help if any can be given.

For about a year and half now, I would say my spiritual relationship (as I call it) with the lord has been great. I attend mass more often
even thought am deployed to Iraq right now ( Civilian not Military) am still attending mass, I pray the rosary maybe not everyday but 2 or 3 times a week, I read the bible.

I really feel that the lord has blessed me with many gifts, When even I got out on missions I really feel that lord has a shield around me.

But lately it seems like Evil thoughts ( sexual and non sexual) are running around in my mind even during prayer, I ask the good lord to keep me away from them yet they come back,

I cant say am just all goody goody, I have my mistakes ! and I have my sins !
but for the most part everything seemed to go quiet well !

any advice on how I can improve the situation ?

Thanks

Joe

Just being in Iraq would lead anyone to Evil Thoughts…

Keep on praying, keep on going to Mass… Go to confession, often… Seek good council from your “Father Confessor”

I’m sure things will get back to normal once you return to the Good Old USA…

PS: There is a spiritual war going on… Just being where you are gives Satin more opportunity to attack you… You might add the prayer to St. Michael to your list of prayers…

Saint Michael, Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And you, Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

while going to confession perhaps weekly, you should continue praying the Rosary, going to daily Mass, and if you can make time, spend at least 15 minutes of quiet time in front of the Blessed Sacrament if this is possible where you are. The Host does not need to be exposed. Perhaps 15 minutes before or after Mass? Also this: evil thoughts are normal to fallen man, and the Bible says to “take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” When you recognize a certain thought is evil (sexual, prideful, hateful, unforgiving, etc…) then say no to it–refuse to dwell on it. If you want real power, say a Hail Mary when tempted with bad thoughts. Call on help when you feel weak: Jesus save me! etc. Dealing with evil thoughts is the story of a Christian’s life. All bad actions start with bad thoughts so it is vital to learn to deal with them. Hope this helps and God Bless!! :)🙂
