I love autumn! It’s my favorite season! I love bonfires, block parties, the smell of the dried leaves, apple orchard and cider, pumpkin bread baking in the over, mulled wine, and a pot of chilli or stew!

When everyone was at the store buying milk and bread, I was getting butter for baking cookies!

So talking of smells no one has mentioned autumn walks with your dog and that smell of wet hound when you get home!

I haven’t had a dog for years but on exciting (for her) autumn walks through wet grass and leaves my dear Roxy would smell …quite pungently for a while afterwards.

Also a walk in the soft blanket of leaves in the woods picking up prickly sweet chestnuts. How nature has protected that treasure!
